Whats up with the walkies? Read on!

From our immediate staff to every single volunteer who jumped in to HELP 💚 — parking, keeping things moving and legal, working the smoker, and donating picnic tables, food, supplies — none of it was taken for granted. We hope you know just how appreciated you are!
Then our paid staff for all the behind scenes work, contracts, lawyer help, advertising, sign rentals, potty and extra garbage pickup, maping and so much more. It definitely took a village to raise this baby 😉

And to our CUSTOMERS, FRIENDS and FAMILY who came out and supported these local businesses — you were noticed! We had so many vendors ask us to pass along how grateful they were for YOUR support.

One vendor actually sold out halfway through the day and she said she enjoyed just hanging around and advertising her biz!
That right there is exactly what we hoped this little country market would become. Awareness to the farmers, bakers, makers and local businesses!
🦆So for the walkie talkies...it was actually Rubber Duckies suggestion..we all ran around the first couple markets looking for each other 🤣 that idea right there was gold. Plus if anyone was on our frequency...you are definitely welcome for the entertainment 🤣

From all of us, thank you for making our first market season something pretty darn special. We truly cannot wait for 2027!

I’ve been creating and formulating bath & body products for over 15 years, but it really started when I was a kid growing up part-time on a little prairie farm in a little prairie town. Fyi...best drive in EVER!

After retiring from hairdressing, I became a Certified Skin Care Coach — one just naturally flowed into the other.

I source locally whenever possible. With my husband working as the Grain Procurement Manager at Grain Millers, I also get some pretty great one-on-one OAT intel! Oat protein and gluten-free oats have become favourites in many of my formulations.

After local, I choose Canadian whenever I can. Ingredients we simply don’t produce here, like olive oil and cocoa butter, are sourced with sustainability and ethics in mind.

WEATHER DESK

The weather seems to be having a little trouble making up its mind. The sun still has some summer warmth, while the rain has given everything a good soaking. It may have put farming behind a bit, but this is the Prairies — onward and upward. We're a tough bunch.

BUSINESS & FINANCIAL

The Fleur on The Farm lab is running in slow mode this week, but there's still plenty happening behind the scenes.

This week's hours:
Closed Monday, Tuesday & Sunday
Wednesday & Thursday — Lab and inventory days
Friday — Deliveries head out
Saturday — Fleur on The Farm AND the grounds open 12–4

The website is always open, with pickup available pretty much 24/7.

We're stocking up for the Lions Club Wine Tasting and Grain Millers Harvest Showdown, and some brand-new soap bars are curing now and should be ready next week.

ENTERTAINMENT & SPORTS

Sunday is Labour Day Game Day! We're heading to the game, but don't worry — we've got someone covering order pickups at home.

Clocktower Corner Market will return Spring 2027! Next week we'll start setting the dates and hours so everyone — shoppers and vendors alike — can plan ahead.

TRAVEL & LEISURE

Orr & Honey B&B is getting closer to opening — and we already have our first booking, so apparently it's time to hustle!

This isn't your ordinary B&B. Think little country Zen getaway.

Breakfast delivered in a picnic basket, and collect your own fresh eggs. Your own country firepit for stargazing and Northern Lights, a BBQ, modern conveniences, yoga videos and mat, plus the freedom to wander the property and relax in the Zen Den beside the pond and waterfall.

Need to disappear from the world for a little while? We may have just the place.

And imagine booking during a Clocktower Corner Market weekend and waking up to an old-school country market right in your backyard.

Pricing and booking details are coming soon, along with information for property bookings and Book The Nook. Our little sitting area in the little ranch style area with cozy fireplace!

I was busy working away yesterday and Lola slowly and methodically snuck in there. 🐾

What’s Happening on Shiels Acres This Gorgeous Sunday?

Lots going on around here today!

Fresh raspberries — 2 lb bags for $18, picked fresh and frozen the very same day.

Bring an ice cream pail and help yourself to some crabapples to take home.

Free specialty coffee from 10am–4pm for ALL first responders, including volunteers!

And a correction from yesterday’s family tree post...

Scott pointed out that I forgot an entire branch of the family tree. He was a volunteer firefighter for years.

I didn't forget him. I was just going to put him under the criminal branch and call it close enough.

Meanwhile, work continues on Orr & Honey B&B. Today we're putting in the firepit and starting on the yoga area — slowly turning our little spot into a place to stay, unwind and enjoy the acreage.

Well... what a perfect turnout for today!!!
Love our first responders 🥰. The lab was busy ! Jaimie brought us some lunch and vendor brought us some canned chicken as a treat. Great Great day!
Scott Shiels snuck a pic of photo editing! It was so nice out today i had to take the little laptop outside for some! Pics will be ready next week!
Orr&Honey B&B was busy getting ready as well!!!
Now a little rain shower to get the gardens watered in and honestly the Irish Garden needed a little shower today.
Our beautiful cookie lady brought a most amazing little cake for us 🍓
Thank you everyone, we are feeling truly blessed ! Tours of the new B&B happened and folks could see the beginning of the newest Shiels Acres project!
