Let's celebrate the HARDWORKING farmers who keep our Prairies Alive!
The grain farmers, cattle farmers, dairy farmers, beekeepers, market gardeners, greenhouse growers, ranchers, and every family working the land across the Prairies.
The people checking weather forecasts more often than Facebook.
The ones climbing into tractors before sunrise hoping today will finally be the day the field is dry enough.
The ones fixing equipment in the yard, moving cattle, hauling feed, checking water, repairing fences, and somehow still finding time to help a neighbor when they need it.
This spring has certainly tested everyone's patience. Between rain, mud, delays, breakdowns, and unpredictable weather, getting the crop in the ground has been a challenge. Yet every day farmers get up, pour another coffee, and try again.
Growing up around farming and through Scott's work in the agriculture industry, we've had the privilege of meeting so many incredible farm families. Many of them have become fantastic Fleur on The Farm customers and friends over the years.
One thing they all seem to have in common is determination, resilience, and an ability to find humor even when Mother Nature has other plans.
Many of the ingredients I use at Fleur on The Farm are connected to Prairie agriculture. From oats and sunflower products to honey, botanicals, oils, and so much more, local farms play a role in many of the products we create.
It's also part of the reason we started the Clocktower Corner Market. Come see June 28th!
So here's to the people feeding the world, feeding animals before feeding themselves, growing crops, supporting their communities, and proving every day that hard work still matters.
Just a fun Fleur fyi. My GRANDAD would always head out Christmas Morning and give all the π cattle and farm animals oats before he settled in for his Christmas breakfast)
Thank you, farmers. πΎπ
Have a wonderful Monday from all of us at Fleur on The Farm.
