But the beach is so far away.
It’s too late at night.
The drive is too long.
My kids wouldn’t pose on the beach.
The beach is too busy.

It doesn’t matter, because the photos are pure magic. And one evening out of routine, and an evening spent driving is worth it when the photos are this wonderful.

Previews are coming out slowly, and galleries are being delivered a few weeks later, and I am endlessly thankful that I never get messages asking when photos will be done, that it’s taking too long. The wonderful returning clients who understand that I prioritize what I need to, day by day. That empathize with days where best intentions are thrown overboard by life’s unpredictable flow. And most of all, that they know their photos are worth the wait, and that I’ve poured my heart and soul into creating beautiful, joy-filled moments for them.

Look at these absolutely adorable kiddos, their parents trust me every year to capture their family. And every year they get a popsicle as payment for a job well done.

(Shoutout to Clovermead Adventure Farm for entertaining my kids so well that I can sit on a bench on my phone answering emails and writing posts. If you have the ability and means to visit, you absolutely should. Even my big kids love it)

Oxford County, have you been downtown to Streetfest yet? Started this morning with a delicious frozen coffee, and fruit freeze’s (which were wonderfully dye free so the kids could enjoy) from Early Bird Coffee, and then got the most delicious lemonade from the Fair/Square | Vegan Goods booth (which I think is sold out now) and then stopped at The Happy Hippo Co. for some goodies before grabbing some Street Mac from Cheesy Cow Company and heading home. Put your time, energy, kindness, and money back into the community. If I hadn’t had the kids with me you better believe I would have plunked down on one of those patios to listen to the live music and enjoyed more food and bevs from our wonderful downtown businesses.

Tomorrow night I get to add to this tradition with this family. I know a lot of people want these wonderful outdoor spaces, but my favourites will always be at home.

Hands up if you got some of the cutest dance photos from Footprints Dance Centre 👋 This was one of the most time consuming projects I’ve ever taken on but the end results were 🔥 and I thoroughly enjoyed being witness to so much hard work put in this season by dancers and teachers alike. 🤍
