I spent years trying to get her back.
The girl I was before. The sixteen-year-old with the bright eyes and the untamed laugh. I thought if I just tried hard enough, healed fast enough, prayed deep enough — she would finally show up again. I was waiting for a teenager to come back. I didn’t realize she was never coming back.
And that was the hardest truth I ever had to hold.
Eighteen years. That’s how long I gave away pieces of myself. That’s how long I believed survival meant shrinking. And when I finally broke free, I thought healing meant rewinding the tape.
Going back to “normal.” Back to before.
But trauma doesn’t work like that. You can’t unlive what lived in you. You can’t pretend the fire never touched your skin.
So I stopped chasing the girl I was.
And I started meeting the woman I had become
She was fiercer. Softer in the right places. She had scars that told stories, and a spirit that refused to be caged again. I had to learn how to celebrate her. How to stand in front of the mirror and not look for who was missing, but honor who had survived. Who had remained.
I wasn’t prepped for this journey. No one handed me a map for becoming a free adult woman after everything. I had to forge it myself. Herb by herb.
Moon by moon. Tear by tear.
And that forging led me here.
To this work. To this space. To you.
I hold women now because I know what it feels like to be unheld. I create sanctuary because I know what it feels like to have nowhere safe to land. And every time I witness a woman step out of the ashes and into her own sovereign fire — something in me heals too.
I’m not just your healer. I’m walking this path right beside you.
So if you’re out there right now, still waiting for the “old you” to come back - I need you to hear this, love:
She’s not coming back.
Because the woman you are today? The one who survived, who is still breathing, who is reading this right now?
She’s the one you’ve been waiting for.
And I’m here to walk with her.
