WHAT JUST HAPPENED? JETS ERASE FOUR-GOAL DEFICIT, SCORE FIVE UNANSWERED TO STUN MONTREAL 5-4 IN OVERTIME!

Just when it appeared the Winnipeg Jets were destined for their 10th consecutive defeat, the club delivered one of the most remarkable comebacks of the season, erasing a 4-0 deficit to defeat the Montreal Canadiens 5-4 in overtime.

Despite dominating the shot clock, Winnipeg struggled to find offence through much of the evening, trailing Montreal by four goals late in the third period.

Then everything changed.

Tyrel Bauer sparked the comeback at 17:21 of the third, scoring his first goal of the season. Just 42 seconds later, Morgan Barron made it 4-2.

Kyle Connor took over from there, scoring at 19:00 before striking again on the power play just 27 seconds later, completing an astonishing four-goal comeback in only 2 minutes and 6 seconds.

With the game heading to overtime, Dylan Samberg completed the improbable turnaround at 3:30, burying the game-winner to give Winnipeg a desperately needed victory.

Bauer finished with a goal and an assist, while Dylan DeMelo and Mark Scheifele each recorded two assists.

The Jets outshot Montreal 47-22, but offensive inconsistency, special teams struggles, and another difficult evening for goaltender Stuart Skinner highlighted concerns that remain despite the victory.

Winnipeg finished 1-for-5 on the power play, while Montreal converted twice on four opportunities.

The victory snapped Winnipeg’s nine-game losing streak and offered a much-needed spark for a team searching for confidence and consistency.

Five unanswered goals. A four-goal deficit erased. Nine straight losses ended.

For one unforgettable evening, the Winnipeg Jets turned frustration into celebration.
