Plane spotting during a tornado warning, definitely a first for me! Big shout out to all the pilots who safely managed to land in Winnipeg earlier this week during the severe weather outbreak that day. The worst of the storm stayed just outside the airfield, allowing commercial flights a window to land. By the day’s end there had been reports of a few tornadoes with the various cells that passed around Winnipeg, mainly to the east. I did see a wall cloud form far west of the airport for a time. Thankfully no hail bigger than a quarter lasting for minutes so all aircraft escaped the reported tennis ball sized hail other parts of the province got.

Winnipeg Airport became the most disrupted in the world that evening, every flight that was scheduled here was put into a holding pattern with most diverting and some try again later that night!

Air Canada’s second Heavy to arrive yesterday in Winnipeg. A 787-8 as sent from Montreal to help ease the large scale of passengers affected y the severe weather this week. #787

Harbour Air’s Twin Otter splashing down in Victoria’s In er Harbour. Now operating 4 Twin’s between a few different routes and some on wheels in winter you can now get to see the legendary Twin Otter at work from Victoria, Vancouver, Tofino and sometimes Seattle

Air Canada 777 leaving YWG after a flight here from Toronto. I assume to pick up the slack due to the severe storms last night which cancelled numerous flights
