"Hi there. This may be a long shot but who knows.

Forty years ago a family members golden lab went missing from Nora Lake. The most likely possibility is that she was killed or died of starvation. We looked for her for months with no sign of her. We never saw vultures circling anywhere near our cabin. To this day my dad looks for her collar anytime he’s in the bush. If there’s a chance she was found it would be nice to have an answer after all these years. She was a golden lab, approximately 2 years old, named Goldie.
Went missing the summer of 1985 or 1986 from the trail from South Cross to Nora Lake.

I know it’s an extremely long shot but with social media these days who knows. If anyone knows anything it would be nice to have some closure to this.

I want to add that at this point no one would be angry if she was found and kept. Things were a lot different 40 years ago. We’ve just always wondered what happened to her and maybe someone knows something."

I was cooking supper on the BBQ at the camper when this Pileated Woodpecker decided to pay me a visit. I grabbed my camera and got lost taking photos... and almost burned supper! lol

For those not aware, the Pileated is Canada's largest woodpecker... and is about the size of a crow.

Fixed up these two photos from those I posted while at camp a few weeks back.

The first is an American Three-toed Woodpecker, cropped & cleaned up... and the other showcases the incredible camouflage adaptation of the Brown Creeper, which essentially disappears against the bark of the Spruce Tree it was climbing.

Added an American 3-toed woodpecker to my life list today! Also had a few Brown Creepers hanging around camp. 🙂
