Patrick Kavanagh Photography

Patrick Kavanagh Photography 20 years of digital photography experience photographing pretty much everything. In Southern Alberta, Canada. From Windsor Ontario, Canada.

Photography has been a serious hobby of mine since I was in high school. So much has changes since I used film and slides. Fast forward and I am still enjoying the hobby using the latest and greatest technology in Photoshop, Lightroom and Topaz. Along the way I taught myself how to edit images using Photoshop's LAB Color Space. Have sold pictures, photographed weddings, family portraits but I real

ly enjoy bird photography, macro, landscapes as well as playing around in photoshop KARtooning images. https://www.instagram.com/kartooned.pictures/ and https://www.instagram.com/patrickkavanagh.ca/ and https://www.flickr.com/photos/the_kav. Flickr has annoyed me in this last year and I am not posting any images there at this time. If you go to https://patrickkavanagh.myportfolio.com/home you will see all of my social media connections.

Blakiston Falls up in Waterton National Park is a must see location. A nice easy walk into nature from the parking lot at the Red Rock Canyon, there are two observation decks with this picture taken from the first one.

My wife and I took a trip to Waterton National Park in Southern Alberta, Canada. Our goal was to see bears but unfortunately none were spotted on this trip. We did however see lots of Wild Flowers, animals, waterfalls and had some close encounters with the Bison at the Bison Paddock. Quite the experience as they were all around our car.

A late lunch at Zums and we were ready for our 2 hour drive home. A really nice day!

Lots of Barn and Tree Swallows flying in the rain, wind and cold. Such a unique opportunity to photograph them flying into the wind looking for food. The wind slowed them down quite a bit.

Swallows > 1/4,000 or 1/6,000, ISO 3200, F:6.3 @ 600mm (Sigma 155-600mm), Nikon D500. Editing in Lightroom and Photoshop LAB Color Space.

Also a Mule Deer, Pelican and Spotted Sandpiper.
Southern Alberta, Canada.

Here are some more pictures from the pouring rain, high winds and cold day a few weeks ago. A nice little variety of birds in this group.

Tern with a fish in its mouth, Eastern King Bird with a rare to see red streak down its forehead (you only see this Color when this bird gets mad), Red Head Duck, Tern in flight, Meadowlark certainly not singing and why did the Pheasant cross the road.

Poor weather days can produce some interesting images.
