Photography has been a serious hobby of mine since I was in high school. So much has changes since I used film and slides. Fast forward and I am still enjoying the hobby using the latest and greatest technology in Photoshop, Lightroom and Topaz. Along the way I taught myself how to edit images using Photoshop's LAB Color Space. Have sold pictures, photographed weddings, family portraits but I real

Here are my latest images of birds in Southern Alberta.

Great Horned owls including babies and spitting out a pellet, Common Goldeneye, Franklin Gull catching a bug, Female Red Wing Blackbird, Savannah Sparrow, Grackle and Killdeer.

So its a cold and rainy day with some wet snow falling and I need a break from bird pictures! Out of the blue I thought, I wonder if I can find a good starting image of the Shroud of Turin to edit .....because, you know, they haven't asked me yet.

I found a larger image and had to treat it like a film negative and had to invert it to show the image better.

Original - Inverted negative with some contrast adjustments - My final take on the image after a whole bunch of tweaks and adjustments.

A fun little project that makes you think as well.
