✨ Nostalgic Family Mini Sessions are here ✨

After stepping away from photography for a season, I've found myself falling in love with it all over again.

Over the past few years, life has changed in beautiful ways. Becoming a mother and slowing down has completely transformed the way I see photographs. I've found myself drawn to images that feel less posed and more like memories. The ones that are cozy, warm, cinematic, and full of heart. For me, that means photos that recreate the magic of 35mm film. Think home sessions. Think capturing the chaos of your little ones as they help you make a meal, as they run through your yard without a care in the world. Think pets jumping on your lap, the couch covered in pet hair.

I started falling out of love with photography when it became too curated. These sessions are all about capturing life as it really is, and enjoying the beauty of raw, imperfect moments!

As I begin photographing families again, I'm excited to offer a limited number of Nostalgic Family Mini Sessions through July 31st.

These sessions are for the parents who want to remember the little things:

♡ the way they still fit in your arms
♡ the ordinary moments that someday won't feel ordinary at all

Howdy, y'all! 🐴

Long time no post! I dusted off the ol' camera to capture a few shots of this year's stampede parade, and I wasn't disappointed! It was so great to see so much of our community show up in a good way to support such a long-standing tradition. I'll be fixin' to hit the grounds today to capture more stampede fun, hope to see you there!

Thank you to all the beautiful souls who graced the front of my lens on Friday! I always have so much fun at this event, and love to see WL supporting an inclusive event run by a First Nations community!

Please make sure you download and save your photos ASAP, as I will be taking my website down in the next month and will not be retaining client files into the new year!

Pow wow 🥁

I had the pleasure of capturing Saturday's 2023 Father's Day Traditional Pow Wow hosted by Williams Lake First Nation, and have found myself gasping every 4 seconds while editing my gallery! I'm only a quarter of the way through the shots that I need to edit, and here are a few of my favourites so far!

I'm forever grateful to WFLN for allowing me to take part in and witness such beautiful events rooted in culture, tradition, movement, and healing, and thank you to all the dancers, vendors, staff volunteers, and participants for gracing the front of my lens this weekend.

If you know anyone who was dancing on Saturday, June 17th, feel free to share my page/contact so they can get in touch with me for the finished gallery (once I make my way through the 4000 shots I took 😉).

And that's a (permanent) wrap on Kiera Elise Photography ❤. I've truly treasured my time as a photographer here in Williams Lake, and am so grateful for the experience I've gained, the new friends I've made, and the many fun adventures I've had with clients out in the wilderness, or in your homes.

I am shuttering my doors permanently after doing some trial and error this year to determine whether I could feasibly continue running a business on top of my full-time job (and full-time coursework!). The answer is an unfortunate "are you crazy did you really think you could manage all of that?!" 😅

For all of my clients with outstanding bookings (6 months or older) who have not booked your session date: please do so ASAP before August 30th, as I will be officially closed after this date and will not be scheduling sessions thereafter (wedding and event clients who have booked after this date will not be affected by the permanent closure).

It's been a true pleasure, Williams Lake (and those who kindly booked me from neighboring cities as well!). I'll miss you all, but know you're in good hands with the many incredible photographers we have here locally! Thank you for making Kiera Elise Photography a reality!

I had my first wedding of the season yesterday, and I am stunned by these moody, coastal vibes thanks to the stormy weather that graced us after the ceremony took place! While I start counting down my remaining wedding bookings over the next two summers, my heart is happy after being part of such a sweet, sentimental day for an old friend.

Hello, Facebook friends! Long time no speak! I've been enjoying a much-needed sabbatical to focus on work and school and, as many of you know, have put photography on the back burner for the time being. That being said, I just can't say no to the occasional fun event or session, and this Easter celebration was no exception!
