In images like this first one, I’ll shoot to save the sky and pull up the exposure on the subjects in post-production. My Imagen | AI Post-Production for Photographers & Videographers profile knows this, and I can even add that subject mask with my initial edit. My raw exposures may look underexposed, but there’s a method to my madness. Some might say I should bring lights to balance the sky and subject, but do you think I’d be able to get the same natural moments and laughs if I had to adjust my light every time someone moves a couple inches (and this little one was MOVING 😆)? In most of my sessions, we get awake and sleepy photos - the best of both worlds. Because how sweet is it to see your little one staring back at you, whether it’s a sweet happy face, or grumpy old man face 😆

Creekside sessions were super fun this year! It was my first time offering a special like this and I could tell the kids really loved it! Being able to get wet and look for minnows, find the perfect rocks, chase bubbles, and traverse over the rocks was such an adventure! If you looked at my IG grid 5-6 years ago, it looked like 3 different photographers shot those photos with all the different styles I had going on. 🫣

Once I realized what was happening I made a conscious decision to work towards one style for all my main work.

Why does it matter?
Clients start to come to you because they love YOUR style and they can see it consistently throughout your portfolio. Pricing becomes secondary. The inquiries went from “What’s your price?” to “We love your style and can’t imagine working with anyone else!”

📈 Inquiries increased 3x. Income doubled.
