Recent photoshoot I did for a great friend who has started a yoga and wellness retreat in Shawnigan Lake. Her place has always been paradise to me and now she is catering to other people which is amazing. I highly recommend checking out what she has to offer for retreats this upcoming spring / summer.

From the moment I woke this morning the day promised to be perfect. We laughed we cried we wept we screamed we stomped we wailed we release we healed…. If only a tiny bit. It was a bit we didn’t have when we woke this morning.

Todays mother of loss retreat put on by is the kind of event the world needs more of. A place to be open and vulnerable, to have your story heard. To be validated by others no matter your experience.

I lost two babies before having my beautiful, thriving children. One to a missed miscarriage at 15 weeks the other at 6 weeks. Both resulting in medical interventions, surgery and heartbreak. It was traumatic, it was scary it was lonely, I was uneducated and unifnformed. Today we didn’t have to be alone. Today we were held by one another in our shared experiences, though wildly different they all share a common thread.

A little piece of my heart left with each of the woman who participated today.
In exchange they filled me with hope, gratitude, love and inspiration. Woman and mothers are fu***ng bad ass no matter your journey.
