Rain rolled over Parc Jean-Drapeau and îleSoniq just kept dancing 🌧️💜

Ponchos everywhere — including a few fleur-de-lys ones, because of course — hand fans still snapping, carnival rides still spinning, and not one person heading for the exit. Wet, packed, glowing: exactly what a Montréal August weekend should look like.

Chris Lake on the Bell Oasis stage — on his own birthday, in a Canadiens jersey 🎂🔵🔴

The "Chris Lake & Friends" concept in full effect, collaborators rotating through the booth for the whole 100 minutes so the sound kept shifting under your feet; playing the main stage in Habs colours is one way to get Montréal permanently on your side.

ATLiens on the Néon stage at îleSoniq — two glowing-eyed aliens in the fog 👽🔊

Orange eyes burning through the masks, white beams cutting the smoke wide open and bass heavy enough to feel through the boardwalk; the Néon stage never stood a chance.

Boris Brejcha behind the joker mask, drowning the Mirage stage in red 🃏🔥

High-tech minimal at its most hypnotic, the mask never coming off once, red smoke swallowing the entire stage while the grooves just kept tightening; one of those sets you feel more than you watch.

Boys Noize b2b Tiga on the Mirage stage — starting at the exact same minute as deadmau5 at the other end of the island 🎛️😤

Two generations of dance music sharing one booth, Tiga on home turf in Montréal, Alex Ridha feeding him record after record, both of them grinning like they had nowhere better to be; the cruellest scheduling clash of the weekend, and worth every minute of the walk.

LAYZ b2b Kompany turning the Néon stage into the heaviest corner of the island 💀🔊

Filthy dubstep traded back and forth between two of the genre's least subtle operators, headbangers packed shoulder to shoulder and a wall of low end you could feel through the boardwalk — plus a guest on the mic to push it even further over the edge.

deadmau5 and that mouse head, owning the Bell Oasis stage after dark 🐭⚡

Joel Zimmerman buried inside a wall of screens, arms up over a crowd that ran back further than the light reached — and a remix of "Fabienk" that had thousands of Québécois shouting every word right back at him; a headline set that earned every bit of the hype.

Crankdat unloading on the Bell Oasis stage, bass first, questions later 🔊🔥

Riddim, hard dance and remixes that hit like a truck, flame jets punching over the booth and a crowd losing it every time the drop landed; subtlety was never the point, and nobody was asking for it.

OGUZ locking the Néon stage into a groove and refusing to let go — my favourite discovery of the whole day 🎛️🔥

I walked over knowing nothing about him and stayed for the entire set: melodic techno with real weight behind it, rolling basslines and builds that just kept stacking, and a finish so full-throttle he ended it shirtless under the red lights, arms up, the whole crowd with him. Been playing his stuff on repeat ever since — if you take one name from this whole series, take this one.

Cassian b2b Yotto on the Mirage stage, a Canada-exclusive back-to-back, and one of the sets of the weekend 🌊🎛️

Two of melodic house's most patient builders sharing one booth, trading long builds and hypnotic pads while flames went up over the crowd; the kind of set where the whole field sways instead of jumps, and absolutely nobody minds.
