Been a bit quiet on this end for a while, but wanted to post some photos from our checkout dive at Durrance Lake last weekend to see if we needed to do another lake cleanup. Overall not that much garbage down there which is positive, but we wonder what these tire structures were dumped for. I know in hawaii they used to dump tires for artificial reefs, maybe that was done in Durrance Lake as well? If anyone knows, please let us know. Still lots of fishing line wrapped around the sunken trees, and sadly one fish that got tangled up as well.

Today's mission was to remediate the broken cloud sponge at station 2, by anchoring it to the bottom we will now be able to continue monitoring the site. We hope that the sponge will be able to continue growing, but this remains to be seen with time.

The Cloud Sponge at Station 2 at our McKenzie Bight Project Baseline site had been damaged previously, either due to anchor damage or fishing lines.
Our mission today was to take some of the pieces and utilize a brick and an aluminum rod to stand them up again.

Can't do these awesome dives that I do without these great teammates! They lug my gear around and occasionally pose during deco as well, can't ask for better friends! There are many more ofcourse, and I will try to get some snaps of them as well!
