A few days ago, we woke up to extremely upsetting news: Meta deleted almost all of our business Instagram accounts. My husband Sergey - who many of you know as an artist with a unique photographic style - also lost his main account.
I am devastated. People often joke about social media, but losing an online presence as a small business or artist is a massive blow. It’s heartbreaking to lose the community we built over the years - thousands of followers, connections, conversations, collaborations, and memories. I feel so gutted I can’t even cry.
It feels like spending years building a warm, welcoming home where amazing people come together to create art - and then, overnight, robots show up and burn it down for no reason.
Unfortunately, Meta doesn’t offer support or a way to appeal, so we have no choice but to start from scratch.
