One of our favourite things about working with clients long term is that you really get to know them. Not just their business, but what they're actually trying to build and why it matters to them.
We've been working with Deo Juvante Yachts for almost two years now, and it's probably been one of the most interesting creative challenges we've taken on.
Deo Juvante is a new explorer yacht brand, but the idea behind it comes from more than 40 years of actually living at sea. It's being designed for this shift we're seeing in yachting, where people want to spend more time onboard, travel further and actually experience the places they're going rather than just passing through.
The slight problem from a marketing perspective... the yacht isn't built yet..
So how do you build a brand and create content around something people can't actually step onboard?
For us, the answer became storytelling.
We've travelled to New Zealand to capture the story of the naval architect, Belgium for the interior designer, worked with media partners around the world, and most recently started creating a travel series around what the Deo Juvante lifestyle actually looks like.
Which somehow led us to the Faroe Islands.
Not exactly the obvious yachting destination, but that's kind of the point.
It's remote, the weather dictates almost everything, and the people there have this incredible connection to the sea. You can't rush through a place like that. You stay a little longer, talk to people, learn how they live and actually get to know the place.
And that's very Deo Juvante.
We think that's also why long-term client relationships are so valuable creatively.
After almost two years, we know each other. We understand the little nuances of the brand that you just can't get from a brief or a few meetings. We've been able to try things, change direction, learn what works and keep building on it.
And we genuinely care about where this brand goes.
You have to care about your clients' goals and what they're trying to create. At the end of the day, we're just one of the tools helping them get there, but it's pretty cool getting to play even a small part in building something from the beginning.✨
