The theme for P and A’s wedding? Light ✨

Music came to mind when I was faced with its spell. I feel myself revisiting those small pockets of light, the dappled light, the harsh light overhead, and the play of shadow and light - as if they were quietly trying to overtake each other. Playfully composed, I relished in capturing the constant sources of light that were in every which direction - almost as if light itself was being dictated by an orchestra. Staccato-like pockets dancing like sprites, to finally crescendo-ing into the grand finale.

The attention to detail matters.
Let me explain. If you’re a bride who feels like skipping over detail shots in lieu of saving an hour’s worth of coverage, I am here to say that the extra time we as photographers allocate to details is always, in my opinion, worth it.
For me, these shots add depth to your wedding gallery. They pull you in, relive your story, and are just as thought out as the rest of your images. We get to play with shadow and light, texture and contrasts, and beautifully capture your thoughtfully chosen accessories that brought your entire look together.
While second shooting for she gave me the task of creating detail magic - and I think I did just that ☺️

Last September I had the privilege of working with other immensely talented women to create this bridal styled shoot that had been bouncing in my head for over a year.
The inspiration for this gorgeous session started from a simple handwritten script on a tablecloth (and after hours of searching online for the perfect shade of pink, I decided to hand dye a tablecloth with gloves to match, because why not? 🤷‍♀️) Am I aware of how incredibly labour intensive my ideas always seem to be? Not in the least 😅 not only was I 7 months pregnant at the time, I was also battling a cold and not sleeping (from said bébé) - but my mindset has always been to GET THE JOB DONE 😂 and boy am I glad I did it ✨

This is all to say that I am officially opening up my 2026 / 2027 books!! This is just the teeniest snippet of a beautifully saturated styled bridal shoot fully drenched in colour that I had been, quite frankly, dreaming about for the past year 🌈
From the hand-died linens (add that to my resume now 😅), to the bamboo flatware, the vintage majolica dinnerware, the hand-painted linen designs to the antique dining chairs - this dream of all beautiful pieces were all from my own collection. And what is magical about it, is that I didn’t have to go looking far to see how it would all come together 🥰

By the way, I envisioned having a floral "bag" for this shoot, and literally DELIVERED on a silver platter 💛 Not only are these women incredibly talented floral entrepreneurs, they are incredible mothers who balance it all.

After arriving 11 days early at 38+3 in the most non-stress and chaotic-free manner I could ever had hoped for, we introduce our sweet Joséphine Briar earthside 💛

Joséphine’s namesake came from one of my favourite novels, Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women - our heroine Josephine March was a strong, confident family-oriented and inspiring protagonist with a passion for books, life and love.

When I say that this planned styled shoot did not go to plan, it is quite literally the understatement of the year 😂

I had envisioned a specific-to-the-t-styled-session with multiple fabric backdrops, 6+ Ralph Lauren inspired outfit options, in an open field on a sunny day, with full flash - could I have made it even more complicated, especially at 32 weeks pregnant?? 😂

Things I didn’t account for:

- forgetting the power of wind while using fabrics… my backdrop stand kept falling over every 3 minutes

- forgetting sand bags

- losing my sd card in the tall grasses

- the metal backdrop stand actually breaking due to how many times it had twisted and fallen down

- my photographer started to choke while snacking on an apple - I physically ran to her, ready to administer the Heimlich maneuver YES REALLY (and YES SHE IS OKAY!!)

All of this to say - as much as we want to have control over things, we simply need to let things just be. So now, I can pre-plan my next photoshoot with my girls (it sounds so weird to say that!!) next summer, and hopefully things will go a bit smoother 😂😅

A gorgeous full-of-colour family session that creatively woke me up and inspired a continuous love affair with shooting flash in direct sun ☀️

When Sarah first inquired with me - she said that she never felt inspired to hire a family photographer to capture her family - until me. And quite frankly, those words stuck with me. So I did what I do best - I came up with beautifully mundane day-to-day things to do during our session, but with a playful direction - the vintage blue cooler used as an outdoor bubble bath for the kiddos, asking them to bring their handmade wooden pink cactus bench outdoors to be planted amongst the bushes, painting a large canvas outside while their bright yellow door is in full view, to posing with Joe’s other "babies" (his loving pot plants 😂😂).

What a treat it was to capture these sweet fleeting moments 🥰

When the getting ready photos deserve their own post 🔥

This past June, I co-hosted a bridal content day with that was quite literally born from a single image that overwhelmingly inspired me - the pink bathroom.
This bathroom was truly the starting point in my vision for this day, and how could it NOT be? The character, the vintage milk glass light fixture, the black and white tiles, the muted floral curtains..I COULD go on 🤍
