Godzilla V Goldorak (for all my fellow Quebecers) 🤘
This shot turned into a classic case (at least for me) of not knowing when to quit. It’s over-edited, rife with composited effects and structures, but I’m still happy with the result, despite my need to explore some more tangible and practical toy photo techniques.

Nightmares live where the light dies.
This was such a fun photo to set up. I planned on 3D printing some tentacles but found this set of 7 on Amazon for like $10. Well worth it for a dramatic Jaeger V Kaiju fight. Time to renew the apocalypse!

That ain’t no lighthouse.
After All Dogs Go to Heaven, it took years for another animated movie to illicit the same emotional response. Along came The Iron Giant, famously voiced by and brought me right back to that same feeling.
This move is timeless and I hope this toy photo photo does it half the justice I aimed for. Have a great day everyone!

Captain Castle
This one comes with a backstory and a sudden desire to shoot an entire series of this version of the character.
1940s Germany.

Marine Corps Captain Frank Castle infiltrates a hidden hydra base and discovers they are developing a super soldier serum. He steals the plans and brings them back to the allies, narrowly escaping capture.

Hydra retaliates and has Castle’s entire family executed.

Months go by and the allies have perfected the super soldier serum. Castle steals the only dose and injects himself and turns into an unstoppable weapon of vengeance. The US military reluctantly deploys him into countless missions, and he single-handedly defeats Hydra, helping the allies win WWII.

The US government realizes soon after that they cannot control him and try to have him terminated, only they fail, and he ends up frozen in ice for decades, only to be discovered and thawed out to continue his reign of never ending revenge. .

Getting Batman’s attention isn’t hard…keeping it just means dancing a little closer to danger.
This shot is one of those rare occasions where I need to shoot a long exposure. The bat signal light I was using was so dim it wasn’t showing up without cranking the ISO to a million.

And the band played on.
Today marks the 114 year anniversary of the Titanic disaster. These Skeletons from couldn’t have been used better, in my opinion.
