Never have I ever come across such a cooperative wild beaver, so cool! 🤓

This was shot at 600mm so I’m not super close but usually when these guys see me 100m away they get mad and jump straight into the water and vanish.

So this fella wasn’t exactly carrying any kind of letter but I think it’s presence counts as an invitation to Hogwarts.

I’m sure it had one, probably just lost it on its way to finding me 🙃

In its defence the letter very likely disintegrated in the relentless west coast rain, can’t imagine soggy letters are the most pleasant thing to pack around.

I was fortunate to get the opportunity to work in Churchill for the past month driving tours for polar bear season. It was an amazing experience watching these creatures gather in anticipation for the sea ice to begin forming so they can head out once more to catch seals after a long summer of surviving off little more than their own body fat.
