One of my favourite portraits of two narwhale resting at the floe edge, their distinct tusk and nature making them easy to spot from a mile away. On this calm and perfect morning .sparke and myself travelled along the frozen Arctic Ocean, reaching the edge just in time to watch this pod of 30+ rest.

While they barely ever show their tusk in the open water it's amazing to watch them from the drone as they play and interact before disappearing into the deep blue.

It may not look like summer, but this has been my office for the last 5 months. Frozen, cold, and beautiful!

In May I left my home in Vancouver for the unknown and while most of the last 5 months are locked away under production NDA's for a few more years I made sure to do a few trips for me. Thank you all for being so patient while I was away, but I promise I will be better at posting now that I head home and into more adventures in the South Pacific with and Antarctica with

Much like the rings on an ancient tree the many scars and battle wounds on the skin of a walrus are extraordinary, almost like a mirror into its past they allow us to imagine the change this creature witnessed in its lifetime.

A pod of narwhals rest along the floe edge before going down beneath the ice looking for cod. Staying at the surface almost completely still they, unlike the beluga, are very distinct and can be very easily distinguished; perhaps another reason why they are such an easy target for local hunters.

My first ever work for a big broadcaster as a cinematographer made its debut last night on ! It was always my dream to have my work narrated by the one and only David Attenborough and for it to be my first film just made it all the more special.
