It’s been a little over a year since we last saw snow in Vancouver ❄️

After a long quiet season, I’m returning to this space with a different heart and mindset.

For the past few years, I stepped away from posting and updating my work. I felt the pressure to create for other people — to curate a feed that looked a certain way, to keep up, to measure myself against so many incredibly talented photographers. Somewhere in that noise, I felt my joy getting tangled in comparison. And comparison truly is the thief of joy.

So I took a hiatus. Not from shooting — I never stopped creating — but from the pressure of sharing. I spent that time learning to separate what I love to make from what I thought I was supposed to make. A lot has changed. I have changed.

Photography, for me, has never been about a following or an algorithm. It’s about the quiet honor of being invited into people’s lives — helping bottle up their memories, their celebrations, their fleeting moments that deserve to be held onto. Social media has its place, but it was never meant to be the center of the work.

I don’t fully know what being back will look like yet. I’m allowing this return to unfold slowly and honestly, without pressure or expectation.

I’m grateful to be here again, sharing from a place that feels more honest and grounded. Thank you for being here — whether you’ve been here all along or are just arriving now. ❤️

It's been radio silent over here, but I have been busy working on a little something something behind the scenes. I am excited to officially announce my rebrand -- Estee Chin Photo.

During the pandemic, I did a deep dive into my business and really thought about WHY I am doing photography. Personally, I would get stuck and felt all the expectations of what I thought I was supposed to get. In my head, there was an unofficial script on how a wedding is supposed to go. I would forget to enjoy the moment and be present. This was my own challenge and mental block.

For me, I long to capture the authentic, unscripted moments. I'm here for the ones who value timeless memories and a long-lasting legacy. For the ones who simply look forward to their life together and celebrating with their favourite people. For the ones who embrace the imperfections throughout the day, who don't care about fly-aways or the dirt on their dress. For the ones who are willing to empty their expectations and allow themselves to be FREE to simply be.

A big big THANK YOU to ! Michelle + Aaron were a dream to work with. I felt heard and affirmed throughout the whole process. They took my unprocessed, jumbled thoughts and brought the vision to life. Every detail was intentional and meaningful.

HELLO! I AM HERE!

I took a bit of a break from Instagram to focus on work, all while quietly working on rebranding my business. It's definitely been busy! I can't wait to show you guys once it's all done.
