Sailing to the Fararankariana island to spot a sighting of the aye aye during the night. We await the guests arrival and the local crew cooks dinner. They say a mongoose comes out of the bushes. If you watch BBC AFRICA The mongoose is a feared cat as it can attack humans. I wait with my camera as they throw a piece of fish and the bushes start to shake, there it is...the terrifiying Mongoose. Luckily this Wild Ring tailed mongoose is only found on madagascar and is cute as a kitten!

A guest shot this photo while in a ancient mosque on the island of Kilwa Kisiwani in Tanzania. My face is red with the heat rethinking my 35 pound pack. Each time i travel i learn something new. Eastern Africa is no joke, shade is highly valued and so is cold water. Watching the kids run as our awesome expedition leader gives it out. These two things I really took for granted and didn't even know they had so much value.
