"Picked Apples, Made Memories"

- summer’s almost gone and we realized… oops, we haven’t done much as a family! So we found the perfect excuse: an overcast day + an apple orchard = family time! A little apple picking and a mini photoshoot for the other two family members.

Now comes the important part: waiting for Maitree to turn these apples into apple strudels!

"Garibaldi Backcountry: A World Away"

- far from the noise and routines of everyday life, the backcountry feels like another world. Quiet trails, wild mountains, fresh air, and that feeling of being truly present. The best part? This kind of escape is right here in BC’s backyard.

"Black Tusk: From Daylight to Twilight"

- the mighty Black Tusk - from daylight to sunset, and into the twilight beneath a crescent moon on the horizon.

While hiking Panorama Ridge, this iconic peak seems to follow you throughout the journey, standing tall against the ever-changing sky. Perhaps next summer, I’ll return to attempt the Black Tusk itself - choosing the safest route and option to get as close as possible to this magnificent landmark.

"Sunset at Panorama Ridge"

- one of my long-overdue hikes finally happened, and what a way to make it my first backpacking adventure! As the sun slowly set over the Coast Mountains, the view opened up to the stunning turquoise expanse of Garibaldi Lake, cradled by rugged volcanic peaks. With the Helm Glacier glowing in the background, it was one of those moments when the geography of a place truly came alive.

Some hikes are worth waiting for. Panorama Ridge was definitely one of them. What next?

"Salar de Surire"

- among all the places I have travelled so far, this was perhaps the one that felt the most remote and isolated. High in Chile’s Altiplano, over 4,000 metres above sea level, Salar de Surire is a vast salt flat surrounded by volcanoes, wetlands, and an almost endless wilderness.

And on this part of the trip, Sanjay had full control of the planning, and he came up with one of the most unforgettable and adventurous stretches of our entire journey. Sometimes, handing over the reins to the right person leads you to places you might never have found otherwise!

"Silvertip Falls | Wells Gray"

- tucked beneath Trophy Mountain in Wells Gray Provincial Park, Silvertip Falls is a beautiful, lesser-known waterfall surrounded by forest and rugged mountain scenery.

The light was tricky that day: beautiful in person, but difficult to capture its true character and sense of scale in a photograph. Sometimes the landscape looks better than the camera can tell.

"Pind de Pantry"

- a beautiful long-table dinner, soulful food, and an exciting new beginning! Our dear friend Nav hosted an unforgettable evening to celebrate "Pind de Pantry", her incredible Tarka - a flavorful Indian cooking base with a vision to create 1,000 universal recipes.

Every dish was creative, thoughtful, and absolutely delicious. So proud and excited to see where this journey takes you, Nav!

Here’s to "Pind de Pantry", Tarka, 1,000 recipes and many more beautiful meals ahead!

"Puerto Natales: Morning Glow"

- as morning breaks gently over Puerto Natales, where the waters of Última Esperanza Sound mirror the rugged mountains of Patagonia.

Cormorants gather along a broken old jetty, silhouetted against the still water, while Black-necked Swans drift quietly nearby. Beyond the sound, the mountains rise dramatically into the morning light, with Monte Balmaceda standing in the distance.

Balmaceda is one of those places I would love to explore someday: beyond the view from the water, into the mountains, glaciers and wilderness themselves.

"Furs of the Fur Trade: Fort St. James"

- stepping into the fur warehouse at Fort St. James feels like stepping back into the 19th-century fur trade. Many of the furs and hides on display are real, reflecting the animals that once formed the backbone of the trading economy in this region.

A small glimpse into a fascinating and often overlooked chapter of British Columbia’s history.

"Hazelton: A Step Back in Time"

- through the viewfinder, time seemed to slow down. Weathered wooden storefronts, quiet streets, and faded signs - every frame felt like a photograph from another chapter of history.

A place where every old building has a story, every street carries a memory, and for a moment, we found ourselves walking through another time in this little corner of Northern British Columbia.
