"Dhunuchi Naach"

- the rhythmic beats of the dhak, the graceful movements, and the infectious festive energy: Dhunuchi Naach/dance is one of the most cherished traditions of Bengali Durga Puja.

Traditionally performed with earthen dhunuchis filled with burning coconut husk and dhuno (a fragrant resin, often from sal trees), this dance is an offering to Maa Durga, blending devotion, rhythm, and the vibrant spirit of Bengal.

Here in Canada, we keep the tradition alive with symbolic representations of the dhunuchi, adapting to indoor venues and fire-safety requirements while preserving the spirit and joy of the ritual. Because traditions travel with us, evolve with time, and continue to connect generations to their roots.

In Bengali culture, it is the homecoming of Ma Durga, returning to her ancestral home for five glorious days of devotion, joy, and togetherness. The air fills with the rhythm of the dhak, the fragrance of shiuli flowers, the glow of a thousand lights, and the boundless creativity of a community united in celebration.

Five days when faith becomes festivity, traditions come alive, and the divine feminine is celebrated in all her strength, grace, and glory.

A relaxed little escape, a taste of local craft b**r, and a chance to discover another hidden gem of Vancouver Island. Just the kind of laid-back adventure we needed to wrap up the Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend!

"The Flower Sellers"

- amid the fragrance, colors, and endless bustle of Kolkata’s iconic flower market, wholesale flower sellers patiently wait for their customers. Baskets overflowing with marigolds, roses, and tuberoses - each waiting to make its way to a temple, a celebration, a wedding, or simply someone’s everyday ritual.

This market has been an important part of my photographic journey: a place where I have spent countless hours observing, wandering, and capturing its people, moments, and stories.

- if there is one place I wish I could have returned to this fall, it would be the Canadian Rockies: one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been.

A few commitments, changed plans, and the usual chaos of life meant I couldn’t make it back this year. So instead, I found myself going through photographs from 2025 - three unforgettable lakes, golden forests, quiet trails, and that unmistakable autumn feeling of the Rockies.

"Guanacos of Patagonia"

- one of the things I loved most about Patagonia was seeing Guanacos roaming freely across the landscape. We came across them again and again: sometimes in small groups, sometimes right beside the road- completely at home in the wild.

They’re such a perfect part of the Patagonian scenery: mountains in the background, endless grasslands, that crazy wind… and Guanacos just going about their day as if nothing else exists.

The more I photographed them, the more I realized I could probably make a whole trip back to Patagonia just for Guanaco photography.
