4 Element Photos A celebration of the 4 natural elements (air, earth, fire, water) through photography by Shane Kalyn I have a sincere passion for and love of the natural world.

Since I was young I have been drawn to the outdoors, I was taught to appreciate it and respect it at a very young age and that has really shaped who I am. I went to post secondary to study fish and wildlife management and have now have an amazing job as a fisheries technician that takes me to many remote c

orners of the province that not many people get to see (BC truly is amazing). In addition to work, I travel constantly, having traveled to around 30 countries. Being constantly exposed to such natural beauty, through work and travel, it makes perfect sense to bring a camera along. Mother nature has done all the work, I just point a camera at it and press the shutter. I am inexplicably drawn to the four natural elements (air, earth, fire and water), I cannot explain why but I am. Through my photos I try to capture one or more of those elements as they each have distinct characteristics which can be represented in different ways. On my website (www.4elementphotos.com) I have broken my photos up by how I see that they meet these criteria. The four elements are essentially the building blocks of life so I guess my photos are a celebration of that.

If anyone is interested in purchasing some of my 2024 calendars, they are nearly gone. These make great stocking stuffers and proceeds from each sale are being donated to Coyote Watch Canada

The 2024 4 Element Photos calendars are here! This will be a limited run of calendars this year so get them while you can!

The price this year will be $25 per calendar or 5 for $100 (shipping extra) with proceeds from each calendar sold donated to an animal welfare non-profit organization.

Similar to last year, this year I will be donating proceeds to an amazing group, Coyote Watch Canada. CWC is an all-volunteer, community-based, wildlife organization that advocates positive human-wildlife experiences. Their successful community outreach is achieved through extensive collaboration through diverse partnerships with government agencies, wildlife organizations, and community members. Education, research, mediation, intervention, and non-lethal conflict resolution are at the heart of their work.

Hey everyone, I'm auctioning off this print of "The Dark Perch" for conservation! Myself, along with 31 other amazing Canadian artists, all part of the Canadian Conservation initiative I started two years ago, are auctioning off our art to support the amazing work being done by the Raincoast Conservation Foundation to protect the wildlife and wild spaces of Coastal BC!!!
