This weekend, the Beau Photo Rental Department is offering a 25% off sale on all Hasselblad cameras & lenses! You read that right - any of our 503 CX bodies, 903 SWC or XPan Kit are for rent at 25% off!  Of course, this also includes any of the Hasselblad V lenses for the 503CX.

- The Hasselblad 503 CX is the classic modular V-System 6x6 medium format SLR that comes to your mind when someone mentions the Hasselblad name.  The 503 CX is fully mechanical with the then groundbreaking Acute Matte focusing screen, which drastically brightened the viewfinder compared to the 500-Series bodies that preceded the 503CX. The 503 CX is compatible with all V-Series lenses in our collection.

- 903SWC is also a purely mechanical body, but it includes the legendary Zeiss 38mm f4.5 Biogon T* lens. Giving roughly a 21mm equivalent field of view on 35mm film, this lens is renowned for its incredible sharpness and near zero distortion. It was a coveted tool for architecture, and landscape photographers. Due to the lens design, the 903 SWC has a removable, top-mounted viewfinder with an included bubble level instead of a TTL viewfinder.

- XPan is a 35mm rangefinder camera which can shoot regular 35mm (24mmx35mm) film frames and also a fantastic panoramic 24mmx65mm frames. The XPan will also allow you to switch between the 35mm & panoramic frames mid-roll. Our XPan kit includes the 45mm f4 & 90mm f4 lenses.  Ask nicely, and maybe Jason, the Rental Manager will lend you his personal red & green filters if you’re shooting B&W film! Please note our XPan is the first version and not the XPan II.

You can pick up your Hasselblad gear on Friday afternoon or at any time on Saturday, and as long as you return by 1pm on Monday, June 22, it will be a one day charge (-25%)!  Please call or e-mail now to reserve! Security deposit equal to replacement value is required at time of pick up.

📸 Photo Walk Alert 📸

Join us on Saturday, June 27 for a Beau Photo Walk sponsored by Fujifilm!

Whether you shoot film or digital, this is a great chance to get out, make some photos, and connect with fellow photographers. Participants will have the opportunity to try a selection of Fujifilm stocks during the walk while supplies last.

We’ll also be hosting a photo contest for everyone who joins us. After the walk, participants are invited to submit their favourite image for a mini gallery that will be posted to our Instagram, and the Beau Photo team will vote on our favourite photos.

The top 3 photos will all get a free print and the winner will receive a prize pack filled with film, Beau Photo merch and other goodies!

Meet one of our new staff members at the film department, Carlo!

Hey team, I'm excited to see you all out front at Beau Photo to help you along your photographic journey! I believe anything that still works should still be used so I'm happy to help you find your new favourite camera among our consignments. I'm super interested in expired film and defunct formats so you can always catch me shooting a roll twenty years out of date!

My eye is drawn to very lived in or very natural spaces, always looking for human touch or the complete lack of it. I'm usually shooting with a different film camera (or several at once), but a Nikon Coolpix is most often in my pocket!

We’re starting a new weekly Saturday sale featuring a different film stock each week.

This week, Kodak T-MAX 100 and T-MAX 400 are 15% off both in 35mm and 120. Whether you’re after the ultra-fine grain of T-MAX 100 or the versatility of T-MAX 400, both are excellent choices for an adaptable black and white experience.

So go out and shoot, then tag us in your photos. We’d love to see what you create and may feature some of our favourites on our Instagram.
