Years ago, Kate and Jason buried a small time capsule of memories at Whytecliff Park. Last weekend, they dug it up to find the exact same tupperware, but this time Jason added a little surprise.
An engagement ring made from the gold of both Kate's late mothers and Jason's mother's wedding rings, and Polaroids of their favourite memories together over the last 5 years.
The forecast leading up to this day was bad – cold, 90% chance of thunderstorms and high winds by the water. Not cute for photos. Jason wanted to do it anyway, and I'm so glad we followed his gut because what happened that evening was indescribable.
A perfect overcast evening, a successful surprise proposal, an epic engagement session and then... the brightest rainbow appeared right in front of us. You could even see the end of the rainbow meeting the ocean beneath us. I've never seen anything like it.
There's no doubt it was a sign from Kate's mama. 🌈
Cue tears.
