Between the BC backcountry and the Amazon, I would still say I’ve never felt more remote than the steppe in Central Asia.

Take a 21 hour drive from Aktobe to Turkistan in a semi-functioning Delica for example.

We travered the ancient Silk Road corridor while passing by what were once ancient seamounts below an extinct ocean.

No water or infrastructure. Just camels and a couple fuel pumps.
