PERFORMER ANNOUNCEMENT!

D**G GANISA
chace and I are proud to announce the three performers that will be gracing the stage at Q***r Spectacle's opening reception. Expect two more announcements over the coming days!

Back in February 2020 I briefly interviewed D**g about the pictured performance. I was enamored by the dramatic wig they created and how it flew during their number. Here's how they described its inception:

"I was falling asleep one night and envisioned a pillar of hair.
Almost like a pillar of fire but of hair, and coming from my head haha
So I tried to figure it out. I imagined it’d be a good representation of explosive emotions"

D**g then briefly described how they wanted to match the drama of the streaming wig to the music:

"I think the song (Best American Girl by Mitski) relates to me personally, so like, [the wig was] kind of a representation of my personal feelings and frustrations but also i thought it’d match the song haha"

On April 9th, the pictured image will be watching D**g perform from the wall as a glorious 24x36 inch print. Check the link in my bio for tickets to the opening reception!

Dorian Electra

March 1, 2020 at for

I adore this photo. It nudges me towards important streams of thought.

It takes me back to a time of intense exploration and expression. At the time of capture I was living a dream in Australia. My feelings around that trip are imbued with nostalgia, with hints of grief and regret. Will I ever experience that joy again? Could I have stayed in Australia and continued my adventure? Did I fail myself? That life existed directly prior to the pandemic, so maybe it's hard not to fantasize about it? 🤷🏻‍♂️

It plays Dorian's flamboyant, distorted, sounds in my head. Sounds that mix previously separate pop and electronic tastes, with pleasingly q***r overtones. Their most recent release, My Agenda, criticizes masculine characters that Ive previously related to. It is a satisfying listen that facilitates my own gender dissolution.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for existing. You inspire me.

I've been itching to offer more direct support to "Vancouver's" BIPOC community. Id like to use my resources as a photographer to do so.
For the months of September, October, and November I'm offering free photoshoots to BIPOC folx. White folx who donate to BLM organizations can also book a photoshoot with me. Here are some organizations I recommend donating to:
> Black Coffee Fund
> Hogans Alley Society
> Vancouver Black Therapy & Advocacy Fund
> Black in BC Community support fund for COVID-19
