Yesterday I was at .ca Wedding Expo in Oshawa. I had one couple ask me - wedding planning is so overwhelming, how do we begin to find our perfect wedding photographer.

Great Question! Off the top of my head:

1. Look at their portfolio. Does their images resonate with you? Does the images align with your vision? (bright + airy, moody, high contrast, magazine/fashion, earthy, whimsical...).
2. Do they have couples that look like you? How do they pose plus size humans, how does their colour grading look on all skin tones?
3. Interview your photographer - ask them how they approach wedding photography, what are the expectations, how do they pose their clients? Do they use AI to pick images?
4. Ask to see full wedding galleries that match your wedding venue style (Backyard, mansion, barn, reception hall, hotel...).
5. Wedding photographers, videographers and wedding planners are the only vendors that will be by your side all day. They should add to your day, keep everything moving smoothly and fun. If your not a fan of the way they speak or provide direction, it will impact your wedding day experience.

To everyone who stopped by my booth yesterday, thank you for saying hi, sharing your wedding plans and spending a little part of your afternoon with me. I loved getting to know you!
