Kathleen Fisher Photography is excited to be reviving the annual photoshoot fundraiser!

As many of you know, May is Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month and this has always been the inspiration behind my yearly fundraiser . This year, we are shaking things up and not only supporting Cystic Fibrosis Canada but also including MS Canada.

Canada has one of the highest rates of multiple sclerosis (MS) in the world, with an estimated 90,000 Canadians living with the disease. On average, 12 Canadians are diagnosed with MS every day. Most people are diagnosed with MS between the ages of 20 and 49 and the unpredictable effects of the disease will last for the rest of their lives.

In the 1960s, most children with Cystic Fibrosis did not live long enough to attend kindergarten. Today, 50% of Canadians with cystic fibrosis are expected to live into their early 50s and beyond, and nearly 60% of all people with cystic fibrosis in Canada are adults. These numbers are promising for our CF Warriors, but we can't stop supporting the fight against Cystic Fibrosis yet!

I have been spending a lot of time reflecting on my business and how much I have to be grateful for.

I’ve been lucky to photograph in various countries around the world, tick amazing things and places off my bucket list, and meet so many incredible people. But one of the aspects that brings me the most joy is getting to witness and capture people at various stages in their own journey through life.

From photographing .jephcott & .jephcott ‘s engagement, to their stunning wedding day, and then most recently, their growing family. It’s truly an honour to be a part of people’s most special milestones and to build connections with such beautiful souls.

Today’s little moments become tomorrow’s precious memories.

Because of these two, this family knows that honesty, respect, patience, good humour and unconditional love exists.

It’s always such a honour getting a family in front of my camera and getting to witness the immense amount of love they have for one another. Including grandparents into a family photoshoot is a wonderful way to capture memories with multiple generations of family, showcasing where it all began.

I couldn’t think of a more fitting woman to have her birthday on International Women’s Day.

I have been lucky to know for 30 years and she has always inspired and encouraged me to be the best version of myself. She has been by my side through life’s biggest milestones - The good, the bad and the ugly, and she has done so with sincere love and compassion.

She never ceases to amaze me. From travelling, living and working in various countries around the world, to starting and completing her law degree in her 30’s while navigating some of life’s most difficult hardships…Maxine has boundless determination, passion and care, and truly exudes everything a powerhouse woman does.

So, a VERY Happy Birthday to my dear friend Maxine and a Happy International Women’s Day to all of the incredible women I am lucky to know and have in my life.

A career highlight of mine was having the opportunity of meeting and working with the talented and passionate Michael Blackstock. This particular event was held at the stunning nestled in the rugged Cariboo-Chilcotin region of BC.

It was an honour to be invited along to partake in a variety of traditional water ceremonies, forest bathing walks and a tour of the breathtaking Fraser Canyon region, only accessible via helicopter.

On this chilly winters day, it seemed fitting to throw it back to warmer days in Puerto Vallarta, photographing Emily and Brynn’s insanely fun wedding.

I have many moments of gratitude for the amazing experiences my work brings me, the places I get to go and the people I get to connect with. As much as I LOVE Kamloops and the surrounding area, I never shy away from an opportunity to hop on a plane or in my car and explore somewhere new. Getting to incorporate work with play is something I will never take for granted.
