Wow!!
This past weekend was one that pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to meet a whole bunch of INCREDIBLE people!! From the volunteers and kids with Colchester County 4-H who worked their butts off to put together the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition - NSPE on top of preparing themselves and their animals to put on half a week worth of livestock shows(!!), to the badass tug of war competitors, cowgirls and cowboys, farmers, and of course those who came to enjoy and support all of them. This weekend reminded me how much I love to be a part of a community that comes together and GETS IT DONE.
I was STOKED when I heard that 4H took on the bold task of putting the exhibition together on short notice. 4H said, âhold my goatâ and GOT IT DONE yall! And they did an INCREDIBLE job.
Of course putting on an event to this scale is bound to have a couple of hiccups, but the event director, Shelley DeViller, handled everything with grace! I know that 4H is a competitive business but despite competing against one another in the ring, everyone came together and did their part to make sure the shows were fun for everyone â¤ď¸
I got to take photos of the 4H awards ceremony to complete my weekend, and although I donât know many of these young people personally, I got a chance to watch and photograph dozens of kids accepting awards and bursaries that they have worked so hard for!
All in all, this weekend meant so much more than I ever could have imagined, and I am so grateful for my community who encourages me to get out there and GET IT DONE â¤ď¸
