It is said that the "bad" cannot stop the "good" for long. Defying the COVID lockdown, families stuck and split across India and Canada, guest restrictions, these love-birds tied the knot in the most amazing way - amidst parents and close friends! What more to ask for. And from a candid photographer's standpoint, for me, this meant there was no "iPad maama" constantly trying to take pictures and blocking my view, no "selfie-crazy" friends that hide the couple, and finally - there was no "inga parunga sir!"-type of conventional photographers that blocked me 😆. It was pure bliss to be part of my friends' big day and capture one of the best moments of their lives! 😊

This was a COVID Kalyanam, but also a குதூகல kalynam! Please welcome the newly-weds, Harish and Vaishali! 💖💖

With the guru flagging off the girls' big day, the excitement shot up amongst the audience, and so did their performance all through the event. With the quality of the performance keeping on soaring high every moment, unforgettable was the grand finale with the pounding percussion, vivacious vocals, scintillating dance and the thunderous applause - the event roared into an incredible culmination! The show ended with such high intensity, as the girls transformed into matured classical dancers with so much grace and charm.

Please join me in congratulating Gayatri & Lalitha - the new classical Bharatanatyam graduates on their laudable feat! Here are a few magical moments from their big day.

Having been part of the whole process since the begining - with the portrait-shoot, rehearsal sessions, and having met the client's friends and family along the way, felt so much like an "insider" during this dance recital event. You become much more than a "photography-vendor" when you start sincerely and unknowingly wishing that every part of the event goes well. These pictures depict not just the make-up and preparation behind the scenes, but the tense moments that went behind these girls' Big day. Please welcome Gayathri and Lalitha who are set to graduate as skilled Bharatanatyam performers!
