🎄 A Friendly but Important Reminder About Christmas Mini Sessions 🎄

It’s unfortunate that I even have to make a post like this, but I feel it’s important to remind everyone about the terms and conditions of booking a mini session with Hillier Photography.

When you book a mini session, you are agreeing to a session that is:

❌ NON-REFUNDABLE

❌ NON-TRANSFERABLE

❌ NO RESCHEDULING

❌ NO CREDITS TOWARD FUTURE SESSIONS

❌ NO EXCEPTIONS

Why do we have these policies?

Mini sessions are very different from regular photography sessions. They are special events offered at a discounted rate, with multiple families booked back-to-back within a limited time frame.

As a photographer, I have expenses and commitments that come with organizing these events.

🎄 Venue Costs: We pay to secure the venue for the event, regardless of whether a family attends their scheduled session.

🎄 Limited Availability: Sessions are booked back-to-back, often just 15 minutes apart. When someone cancels close to the event, there is very little opportunity to fill that spot.

🎄 Fairness to Everyone: If I make an exception for one family, it would only be fair to offer that same exception to every family who requests one. Unfortunately, that simply isn’t sustainable for a small business.

🎄 No Future Session Credits: A mini session is offered at a special event rate because multiple families are photographed at one location on the same day. Offering a credit toward a future private session means additional travel, time, scheduling, and expenses that were never included in the original mini session price.

When you book a mini session, you are reserving a specific time slot, not purchasing a flexible photography credit.

I completely understand that life happens. Work schedules change, children get sick, and unexpected circumstances arise. I genuinely sympathize with those situations.

However, circumstances changing after booking do not change the terms that were agreed upon when the reservation was made.

These policies are not personal, and they are not meant to be unkind. They are in place so that I can continue offering affordable mini session events while protecting the time, planning, and financial commitments involved.

As a small business owner, I work incredibly hard to provide beautiful memories for families at an accessible price. I also have to make decisions that allow my business to remain sustainable.

Please, before booking any mini session, make sure you understand and are comfortable with the terms and conditions.
