There’s something so special about two people who show up exactly as they are.

No expectations, no trying to be anything other than themselves. Just two people wildly in love, embracing all the little things that make their connection theirs.

These two gave me the freedom to document their engagement exactly as it felt. The genuine laughter, the quiet in-between moments, the playful chaos, and all the little things that make their love story uniquely theirs.

Because engagement photos shouldn’t feel like you’re trying to be someone else. They should feel like you.

Honest, authentic, a little imperfect, and entirely your own.

And really, that’s what I love most about documenting love stories. 🤍

An adventurous elopement at one of Ontario’s best hidden gems. 🌲 🥾

Instead of a traditional Ontario wedding, they chose a private ceremony at Limberlost Forest on a hiking trail they already loved, surrounded by their dogs, their best friends and the landscapes that make them feel most at home.

Even the smallest details told a piece of their story.

The hiking boots. The flowers. The rings. Their dogs wandering alongside them. And their off-road vehicles — not something brought along just because they’d look cool in wedding photos, but a real part of the way these two spend their time together and explore places like this.

That’s what I love so much about photographing elopements.

The “details” don’t have to be the things a wedding checklist tells you to buy.

They can be your muddy hiking boots. Your dog’s collar. The vehicle that has taken you on a hundred adventures together. The trail you’ve walked before. The people you couldn’t imagine doing this without.

When you strip away everything you feel like you’re supposed to do, you get to build a wedding day around the things that actually mean something to you.

Limberlost Forest is such a hidden gem in Muskoka — lakes, rocky hiking trails and endless forest just outside Huntsville, with that wild Algonquin feeling and some pretty incredible colour as Ontario moves into fall. 🍂

If you’re dreaming of an Ontario elopement, intimate Muskoka wedding or simply a wedding day that feels more like you, this is your reminder that you’re allowed to do things differently. 🤍

There’s remote… and then there’s Yukon helicopter elopement remote.

The kind where you climb into a helicopter in your wedding clothes, fly over endless kilometres of Yukon wilderness, and land somewhere with no roads, no crowds and no one else in sight.

And suddenly, your wedding day can be whatever you want it to be.

You can hike to a glacier-fed alpine lake and jump in. Bring your dog and let them run around while you explore. Find a spot between the mountains to read your vows where you quite literally won’t see another person in sight.

You can sit on a rock in your wedding dress and have a snack. Change into your hiking shoes. Wander a little farther because something over there looks beautiful. Stop for as long as you want just to take it all in.

There’s no audience. No strangers passing by. No one waiting for you to finish. No timeline telling you it’s time to move on to the next thing.

Just the two of you, your dog, and a whole lot of epic wilderness.

Because an elopement doesn’t have to be a smaller version of a traditional wedding. It can be a day built completely around the two of you and the things you actually love doing together.

Go somewhere you couldn’t otherwise get to. Get your wedding clothes dirty. Jump in the lake. Explore without knowing exactly what you’ll find around the next corner. Take your time. Make the day itself one of the stories you’ll be telling for the rest of your lives.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that, you get married.

This is what your elopement is all about.

Not the perfect timeline. Not keeping the dress perfectly clean. Not making sure every single thing happens exactly the way it was supposed to.

It’s about actually living your wedding day.

Taking the time to sit down, crack open a b**r and just soak in the scenery.

Wandering a little farther because you wanted to see what was around the corner. Climbing over rocks in your wedding clothes. Bringing your dog because it wouldn’t have felt right to do any of it without him.

And laughing when he ended up soaking wet after falling straight into the water.

It’s having nowhere else you need to be. No reason to rush the moment you’re in just to get to the next one.

And then, at the end of it all, looking up and watching the Northern Lights come out over your wedding night.

You couldn’t have planned that part.

And maybe that’s the whole point.

Years from now, you might not remember what time you were supposed to be somewhere or whether everything went exactly according to plan.

But you’ll remember the b**r overlooking the water.

You’ll remember how hard you laughed at your soaking wet dog.

You’ll remember wandering through a place you love with your brand new husband or wife, realizing holy s**t, we’re married.

And you’ll remember standing underneath the Northern Lights together at the end of it all.

Those are the wedding photos I want to give you. Not just proof of what your day looked like.

Photographs that bring you back to what it felt like to live it.

Your memories. Your pace. Your wedding, whatever you want it to be.

Your wedding doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.

It can look like hiking through the woods in your wedding clothes, carrying your dress over rocks, tossing a canoe into the water and paddling out with nowhere else you need to be.

It can be quiet. A little wild. Completely unhurried.

Because an elopement isn’t about making your wedding smaller — it’s about filling the day with the things that actually mean something to you.

Go somewhere that makes your heart sing. Spend the day outside. Get your boots dirty. Paddle across the lake. Explore somewhere beautiful together. Build a wedding day that feels so full that when you look back at it, you don’t just remember how it looked — you remember exactly how it felt.

This is what I love about photographing elopements. We have places like Algonquin Provincial Park where your wedding day can be an actual adventure — granite shorelines, quiet lakes, winding trails, canoes and endless forest.

Do your wedding your way 💕

And if your way involves disappearing into Algonquin with a canoe and the person you love, I’m very much in. 🤍

Kinda chic to have wedding photos that look like you actually had fun. 🤍

A cottage wedding doesn’t need a packed timeline or a hundred perfectly planned moments.

It can look like your dog leaving paw prints on your dress. Standing around the fire with your favourite people. Wandering down to the lake. Getting a little messy. Letting the day unfold without worrying about what you’re supposed to be doing next.

That’s what I love about a cottage elopement — it already feels a little more like real life. Just in a really beautiful place, with the person you’re choosing forever.

And years from now, I want your photos to remind you of more than what everything looked like.

I want you to remember how much damn fun you had.

Your wedding dress is allowed to get dirty.

Actually, I think it should.

Climb over the rocks. Take your shoes off. Walk behind the waterfall. Pick the place that makes absolutely no sense for keeping a white dress white.

Because you didn’t choose to elope so you could spend the day worrying about your dress, your timeline, or whether everything was going according to plan.

You chose this because you wanted to experience your wedding day.

And if that means muddy hems, bare feet, wet hair and figuring out how the hell we’re getting over that next rock…

even better.

Ontario elopements can look like this. 🤍

There are wedding days you photograph, and then there are wedding days that become part of your own story too.

Because these are your people. 💕

Watching my brother marry the love of his life in Crete, Greece was already something incredibly special. Getting to tell the story of their day through my photographs made it even more so.

But there’s a little bit of magic behind how they ended up here, too.

Years before Emma ever met Taylor, she had pinned a photo from a wedding in Greece to one of her Pinterest boards. She loved the setting, saved it, and probably didn’t think much more of it.

Fast forward years later, and Emma and Taylor were planning their own destination wedding in Greece when they came across this incredible venue in Crete.

And somewhere along the way, they realized…

It was the place from that photo Emma had pinned years before she had even met Taylor. 🥹

I mean, come ON. Of all the places they could have found, somehow they ended up right back here. The stars truly aligned. ✨

Old stone walls, olive trees, overflowing flowers, views stretching toward the Mediterranean — the place that had caught Emma’s eye all those years ago became the place where she would marry Taylor.

And I think that’s part of what makes destination weddings and elopements so special. You’re not just choosing a beautiful backdrop. You’re choosing a place that becomes woven into your story forever.

Greece won’t just be somewhere they travelled. Crete will always be where they got married.

And getting to experience it as Taylor’s sister while also being trusted to document their story was pretty damn special.

If you’ve been dreaming about your own Greece wedding, Crete elopement, or destination wedding in Europe, maybe that place you’ve had saved on your Pinterest board for years isn’t quite as far-fetched as it seems. ✈️

Still soaking in how sweet these two were the other night. A little bit of wandering, a whole lot of laughing and two people who are very freaking excited to marry each other next year 💕

Basically my favourite kind of evening. Add in the stunning sunset we got and it was just pure perfection

Your maternity session doesn’t have to be about perfect poses or simply documenting your bump.

Let it capture who the two of you are, right now, in this season of life. Before everything changes. Before you meet the little person who’s about to make your world a whole lot bigger. 🤎

Let it be an adventure.

Wake up before the sun. Drive out to the lake while the rest of the world is still sleeping. Watch the fog roll across the water. Wander barefoot along the shoreline. Bring the coffee. Bring the blankets. Bring the things that make this chapter feel like yours.

And absolutely bring the dogs.

Or, in C + W’s case… all FIVE of them!

Your maternity photos can be so much more than photos of pregnancy. They can tell the story of your life together before baby — the places you love, the animals who are already your family, and the quiet little pieces of this season you’ll someday wish you could step back into.

So forget what a maternity session is “supposed” to look like.

Let’s make it feel like you!
