With love, it’s not a question of ‘if’ but ‘when’. For Aishwarya and Akul, the same applied to their wedding celebrations. They patiently waited for 687 days to celebrate their wedding along with their friends and family in Mysuru. And what a celebration it was.

Mysuru, to those who haven’t visited it, is a paradise for anyone who loves to eat, walk or just be. It has all the modern amenities of a city, without the hustle and bustle. Mysuru also happens to be hardly two hours drive from picturesque places like Coorg, Wynad, Byllakuppe, Bandipur and Nagarhole Tiger Reserve. So if you haven’t been to Mysuru before, it’s not too late :)

So what was I doing during the lockdown? THIS! My favourite shoot to date! :)

Over the last 10 months, I got to work with Nandus on their website shoot. Nandus is one of Bengaluru's biggest poultry and seafood brands. And their products are known to be without Hormones, Antibiotic Residues & Chemical Additives. Our brief was just to reflect that. So we adopted the KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) Method and kept the photos fresh, airy and simple. We filled the kitchen with 'sunlight' and inserted greenery in the form of plants and leaves. And EVERYONE contributed beyond their function and capacity to help produce these images. Hands down, this is my favourite shoot to date! :)

When the entire world was busy complaining about how they were confined to their homes due to Covid19, Meenakshi decided to get married to Abhirath on the terrace of her home that she grew up in. Meenakshi got her Mehendi applied with her Mother’s beloved Bougainvillea plants as the backdrop. And she got her portraits done on the swing installed by her grandmother for her before she was even born! Honestly, I can’t think of a better place for anyone to get married!

I am not much of a traveller but once in a while, I pause, look around and thank God for the places I get to travel to. I get into an introspection mode during such times. And don't like any distractions that might steal away the moment from me. This includes taking photos. But I guess I should take more photos. I'd forgotten about this photograph and came across it this morning. Once this pandemic blows over, I'd really like to go back to this spot in Ooty. And this time, with Rini and Ruth.

Earlier this year, I shot a typical Bangalore winter wedding. Mornings were averaging at a cool 19 degrees but love kept everyone warm at the wedding :) Since Nupur is Marwadi and Sandeep a Mudaliar Tamil, the wedding was a beautiful marriage (pun intended) between both the cultures. And a huge gang of friends ensured there was enough madness to last the couple a lifetime.
