🛫 Low-cost airlines enter our lives. There are many of them in 🇪🇺Europe, in the 🇺🇸US and 🇨🇦Canada - a few, not to mention the 🇺🇦Ukrainian market.
Ticket prices are low, however, some companies are more profitable than the giants of air travel though. One of my friends said that "they save on passengers, on the service and you fly like in a minibus.😥" Not so. Here are the highlights of where the savings go:
📍1. Always new airplanes of the same model - this is a quality guarantee, fuel economy and in case of repair, the same parts and workers for all machines.
📍2. Almost always in the air - while you are checking in, the plane is landing to pick you up and fly back. It does not stand at the airport, it is simply not profitable for the company.
📍3. Airport fee is one of the main and weighty parts of your ticket. Therefore, low-cost carriers always use a secondary airport near the city or the old terminal. So check the tickets carefully, where exactly your departure is, how to get there and where to drop the luggage?
🌍Yes, you need to check-in online, print your boarding pass by yourself, seats choice for an additional fee, but the same you we can find on regular airlines.
🛒 Small volume of free luggage? Don’t take unnecessary stuff or pay for your bags. But still cheaper.
On my trip to Austria, I flew with WizzAir. New aircraft, clean, great crew. I took the Wizz Priority for myself, which helped with the additional luggage and the line went quickly. Of course, we took food with us to the cabin, but we forgot about water, so 2.5E for a small bottle of water.
