Another day at The Geary Studio!

Before shoot day, production teams, directors, stylists, and clients gather to review every look, make final selections, and fine-tune the schedule. It’s where creative decisions meet practical planning, helping ensure the actual shoot runs smoothly and efficiently.

With a dedicated makeup room, three washrooms, a private boardroom overlooking the floor, and enough space to organize, steam, style, and try on hundreds of wardrobe options, the studio is built to support every stage of the production process.

Not every production day involves cameras. Sometimes the most important work happens before anyone presses record.

On Friday, we are opening the doors at The Geary Studio for a private gathering of men.

No speeches.
No presentations.
No therapy session.
No corporate sponsor.

Just food, conversation, and a room full of men willing to show up for one another.

We’re asking that there be no photos, no tagging, and no social media posts from the event itself. Some men may want to talk. Some may just want to listen. Some may simply want to know they’re not alone.

Maybe you’re doing great.

Maybe you don’t need this at all.

But maybe someone else does.

If that’s the case, I ask one thing:

Because the man who needs to see it probably isn’t searching for a men’s mental health event. He’s scrolling. Quietly carrying more than anyone realizes.

If one conversation prevents one person from feeling alone, then the evening was worth it.

HGTV and Food Network have rolled into the studio a few times now to film episodes of Restaurant Impossible featuring the incredible 🙌🏻 (and is pretty awesome too).

Jen is not only one of Canada’s most respected restaurateurs, she’s also a friend of the studio and the owner of General Public (our favourite local spot, conveniently located just a few doors down).

One of the things we’ll never take for granted about running this space is getting a front-row seat to talented people doing what they do best. From the crews transforming the studio into a working café set, to the lighting, camera, and production teams bringing a vision to life, it’s always impressive to watch.

A blank space in the morning. A fully realized world before lunch.

Grateful to host the people behind the scenes and in front of the camera who continue to create incredible work within these walls. 🎬

Some nights feel less like a studio (or venue) and more like overtime in the fourth quarter.

For this one, PUMA transformed The Geary Studio with a full basketball court installation across our main shoot wall, game consoles running all night, custom artwork, great food, good music, and a crowd that felt like a perfect mix of sport, culture, fashion, and creativity.

People moving. Sneakers squeaking. Drinks pouring. Conversations happening in every corner.

Exactly the kind of energy we love seeing in the space.
There’s always something being built, projected, painted, installed, celebrated, or turned into an experience here. #

Tonight we hosting at the studio for an event that has brought together creators, influencers, media, and the automotive community under one roof (and yes… there’s a car tucked away by the garage if you look closely 👀).

One of our favourite parts of the space is watching it constantly transform. One day it’s a full production build, the next it’s an event filled with music, conversation, cocktails, and cars.

Family Day feels different when your “family” isn’t just related by blood… but by loyalty, creativity, and showing up.

To the clients who’ve become regulars, the friends who’ve become collaborators, and the quiet heroes who help keep the studio running smoothly: Thank You! You’re the reason the lights turn on, the coffee brews, and the ideas flow.

And of course… a special thanks our studio’s official Brand Ambassador, Shift Supervisor, and occasionally Head of Event Security: Misha.

She inspects every load-in, greets every guest (with appropriate enthusiasm), and ensures no unattended snacks survive an event. She’s also the reason .room was born — because when your four-legged employee works that hard, she deserves her own division. (More on this later… we’ll be releasing new shoot dates soon)

Family members come in all shapes, sizes… and sometimes they come furry, with a little bark and a whole lot of heart.
