Barbara and Aaron’s adorable brunch wedding in Ottawa.

They made this day as meaningful as possible me while keeping it laid-back so their sweet toddler could be a big part of the celebration.

Think amazing food and mimosas at a fave local restaurant. We took portraits at B + A’s favourite gelato spot around the corner from their home. It was super fun to run around the local spots that have witnessed their love and their story as a new family.

A seriously sweet and meaningful celebration. And a reminder to do you on your wedding day.

Taking a moment for these two whose love is incredibly tangible. The kind of love that, coming into their world, I could feel immediately.

It’s this type of connection that makes my job so meaningful, and quite honestly a dream job.

I often have couples asking about posing and insist that they are awkward in front of the camera. I promise you, that is not true. Your wedding day is so entirely overflowing with real emotion that posing becomes secondary. Let me guide you in feeling comfortable to be yourself in front of the camera and I promise the authenticity of your love will do the rest.

This is what love is. A tear for the sake of the other, like a gift of selflessness. An offering of absolute devotion to friendship.

While a wedding celebrates the couple - the protagonists of this love story, I notice the most beautiful subplots unfolding around them.

I see the power of her best friends touch in a moment of emotion. It speaks through fingertips, “I’m here for you and always have been.”

I have never seen laughter like that in a group of bridesmaids. The kind that bears witness to the most intimate of shared experience. A laughter that remembers the hilarity of youth. A laughter, like a secret handshake, that only her dearest friends can provoke.
