Great Escape ☁️💙

Sometimes we don’t need a grand escape. Sometimes we just need a quiet moment, a beautiful view, and a reminder that life is still happening in the little spaces between the busy ones.

I think we spend so much time waiting for the big moments that we forget the magic is often found in the ordinary ones… the sun reflecting off the water, the clouds moving slowly across the sky, the peaceful pauses we almost miss because we’re always rushing to the next thing.

So today, I hope you find a moment to slow down. Take a breath. Look around. There is beauty waiting for you in places you might not expect.

The hands that build a life… 🤍

Sometimes love isn’t found in the big picture perfect moments. Sometimes it’s found in the hands that come home tired after a long day. The hands that have worked hard, provided, fixed, built, and carried more than most people will ever see. It’s found in the hand that still reaches for yours after all these years.

This photo probably doesn’t look like much to some people, but to me it holds so much. It holds the story of two people who have grown together. The messy, beautiful, ordinary parts of life that don’t always make it into pictures, but are the moments that matter the most. Love isn’t just about the easy days. It’s about choosing each other through the busy days, the exhausting days, and all the moments in between.

After all this time, I’m still grateful that these are the hands I get to hold. The hands that have worked hard, carried responsibilities, built memories, and held mine through every season of life. The hands that remind me that love isn’t always found in grand gestures, but in the quiet moments of simply choosing each other, day after day.

There is something magical about a rainy day 🌧️

Call it what you will, but I have always loved a good storm. Maybe it’s the sound of the rain tapping against the windows, the way the sky feels a little softer, or the excuse to slow down without feeling guilty about it.

Yesterday was one of those simple days that felt like everything I needed. No rushing, no big plans, no schedule to follow. Just my husband and I sitting on the front porch, watching the rain fall, listening to the thunder roll, and taking in all the little details most days we are too busy to notice. The flowers swaying in the wind. The leaves dancing through the yard. The flashes of lightning lighting up the sky.

There is something so peaceful about realizing you don’t always need to be somewhere or doing something to make a memory. Sometimes the best moments are the quiet ones. The ones spent wrapped in comfort, sharing a snack, watching a favourite show, and simply being present with the person beside you.

Maybe that’s the beauty of a rainy day…It reminds us that rest is not wasted time. Sometimes slowing down is exactly what our souls need. 🤍

Chapter 8️⃣ Begins...

There’s something about flipping the calendar that feels like a fresh breath, a gentle reset. It’s a reminder that no matter how heavy the last chapter felt, we get the chance to write again.

August, to me, feels like a bridge. Summer lingers, but you can already feel the whispers of change in the air. Days are warm and golden, yet shorter, softer. It’s the month that reminds us: nothing stays the same, and that’s the beauty of it.

So here’s how I want to step into this chapter: With gratitude for the moments that lit up July. With grace for the parts of me still learning, still healing, still softening. With intention to slow down and savor what’s left of this season before it slips into memory.

I want August to be a chapter of choosing presence. Of saying yes to what feels good, and no to what drains me. Of listening more to my intuition and less to the noise. Of noticing the beauty that hides in ordinary days.

The truth is, we don’t always need a dramatic change to feel renewed. Sometimes, all it takes is the turn of a page, the start of a new month, to remind us that we can begin again. So here’s to August. Here’s to Chapter 8. May it be filled with light, clarity, and little moments that remind us of how far we’ve come.

POV: You’re resting… but your dreams are still chasing squirrels. 🐿️😂

If you know Mazie, you know squirrels are basically her greatest obsession. The funny part is, after a full day of adventures, this little girl can sleep like she has nothing going on… meanwhile I’m pretty sure she’s still out there in dreamland chasing every squirrel she’s ever seen. 🤎

Sometimes the best moments are the silly ones. The little personalities, the funny habits, and the everyday things that make our homes feel like home.

Nature heals 🌿🤍

I want more moments that make me stop and take a deep breath. More sunsets that remind me the day was worth living. More drives with no destination, just music playing and the world passing by. More mornings where I notice the little things I usually rush past.

The butterflies finding their way. The waves reaching the shore. The ducks gliding peacefully across the water. The sky putting on a show just because it can. I want to keep chasing the moments that make my soul feel full. The ones that remind me life isn’t just about getting through the days, but actually being present for them.

Sometimes healing isn’t found in changing everything around us…Sometimes it’s found in slowing down long enough to notice the beauty that was already there.

So here’s your reminder and mine too…Look around. Breathe it in. There is still so much beauty waiting to find you. 🤍🌿

I think sometimes we forget that growth has its own timing. 🌊

It’s easy to look at someone else’s journey and wonder why ours doesn’t look the same. Why their path seems quicker, why their dreams seem closer, why their story seems to be unfolding differently.

We were never meant to walk the same road. Some people build quickly, and some people build deeply. Some seasons are about blooming, while others are about strengthening the roots beneath the surface.

Today, standing here with the waves at my feet, I’m reminded that there is beauty in taking your time. You are not behind. You are building a life that is uniquely yours, one moment, one lesson, and one step at a time. 🤍

I think sometimes we forget… this is the whole point. 🤍

Somewhere between the responsibilities, the routines, and always thinking about what comes next, it’s easy to forget to stop and appreciate the life that is already happening around us.

When I put this little video together, I found myself smiling at all the moments that make up our everyday life. The boat rides, the sunsets, the adventures, the laughter, Mazie running around, the kids being silly, and the memories we are creating without even realizing it. It’s funny how the moments that seem so ordinary while we are living them are often the exact ones we would do anything to experience again someday.

Maybe the goal was never to have everything perfectly figured out. Maybe it was always about taking the time to breathe in the fresh air, enjoy the coffee, laugh until your stomach hurts, chase the dreams that light you up, love the people around you, and appreciate the little pieces of magic hidden in an ordinary day.

So today, I’m reminding you to slow down and be present for the story your already living. 🤍
