Caught Mid-Chew 😆🦌

I caught this doe with her mouth stuffed full and a facial expression that looks like she just overheard the neighborhood gossip.

Honestly, that face could crack a smile from just about anyone... even Mr. S down the road, who keeps a broom at the ready in case someone dares let a toe touch his lawn.

I can only imagine what's going through her mind: "What do you mean I've been chewing with my cheeks filled this whole time?"

Nature gives us so many beautiful moments, but sometimes it delivers pure comedy instead. 😂🦌

Exotic Beauty in the Heart of the City 🦆

How handsome is this male Wood Duck?

It's hard to believe a bird that looks this exotic calls Toronto home. We often imagine wildlife like this living in tropical forests or distant continents, but sometimes nature's greatest surprises are right in our own backyard.

Isn't Toronto amazing? ✨

A vibrant tapestry of grace ✨

Witnessing this orange canopy of roosting monarchs is such a peaceful experience. It’s amazing what you can find right here in the big city if you know where to look!

Coyote of the Meadow 🐺

Just after the sun slipped behind the trees, she stepped out into the meadow — a large, beautiful Eastern Coyote, standing tall in that soft blue hour light. For a moment she just watched the field, calm and confident, before beginning her nightly hunt. The way she held herself… you could feel the wild in her, the quiet intelligence, the awareness of every sound around her.

Toronto’s coyotes are incredible animals. They help keep our ecosystems balanced, they travel huge distances through our ravines and green corridors, and they’re far more shy than most people realize. They move mostly at dawn and dusk, slipping through the city like shadows, doing the work that keeps our urban wilderness healthy.

A reminder that even here, in Toronto, the wild still walks beside us.

So much beauty right here in the big city! 🐟🦋 Seeing these animals give me hope for our local ecosystems. Have you spotted any of these beauties lately?

Just a photographer doing what he loves most. 📸🍂🐟

Sitting perched by the water, camera in hand, completely dialed in. There’s nothing quite like the energy of the autumn salmon run—watching these incredible fish battle their way upstream while capturing every splash, jump, and moment of sheer determination.

The Doe With the “Third Eye” 👁️

Okay, this one gave me a good laugh. Two does standing perfectly side by side — lined up so neatly that, at first glance, it honestly looks like one of them has a third eye.

They were posing so calmly, totally unaware of the optical illusion they were creating. For a split second I thought, “Wait… what am I looking at?” Hehe — just one of those funny little moments the Don likes to throw at you when you least expect it.

A three‑eyed doe… only in Toronto.

The Green Heron With… Well… Something to Say 💚

This handsome Green Heron was striking a full-on model pose on his tiny island — chest out, feathers glowing in the evening light, and a whole fish tail casually hanging out of his mouth like it was no big deal.

He stood there looking at me with that classic heron attitude, as if he knew exactly how good he looked. The colours, the posture, the confidence… he had it all going on.

And honestly… is that a fish hanging out of your mouth, or are you just happy to see me?

Lol — either way, he made the moment.
