My favourite sessions are the ones that don’t feel like sessions. With Bryan and Ruza it was coffee first, then a tour of their instruments, then a private concert in their living room while their dog wandered around. The camera was always there, running alongside all of it. We got creative, played around, and that is kind of the whole point. When people feel at ease, something honest comes through, and that is what I am always after. Their son has since arrived, and I think about this afternoon often.

Getting ready with Carly was something else. Her friends and family made it feel like a hangout more than a wedding morning.
These moments are the final touches. Earrings in, lots of laughs, and a genuine debate about the necklace. The verdict was unanimous, no. The dress was perfect on its own. Those collarbones didn’t need any competition.
