Creek lit with UV light...long exposure

Great night of adventure hunting fluorescent rocks. (sodalite). The rocks and water were lit with 5 ultraviolet lights. Creative director Ray Gionet, Photography Richard Main and self proclaimed sherpa Dean Main. The water glowed light blue under the uv lights. (dissolved organic carbon?)

Red Chair Therapy in Township of Terrace Bay. With almost 270 degree view of Lake Superior and the slate islands, this view offers a time to pause, reflect and just breathe. The night sky offers us a chance to witness the vastness of the milky way and our place within the universe. And yes this image is a composite. The image was one I was hoping to capture last friday but the weather did not cooperate.

The aurora made a unique visit tonight. Momentary corona blast lasting about 5 minutes. This was shot was taken through my gazebo frame as the lights were directly above. Wow! All my camera settings from last night were too bright. I had to dial everything down.

Hockey may dominate Canadians lives in the winter, however the summer belongs to the imagination of each individual community; such as the ‘Dragfest’ racing in Terrace Bay, bass fishing in Atikokan or the Dawson Creek B.C. rodeo. Each community event has a way of defining a lifestyle and what they value and enjoy.

Searching for the Canadian fluorescent sodalite source that has been found in Upper Michigan by Erik Rintamaki and coined the label of yooperlites. This find may be one of the sources as the vein travels up and down the cliff. Many thanks to Ray Gionet for showing and taking us to this location. The rocks are illuminated by 3 UV lights.
