Here's something I talk about in every single colour analysis session, lip colour is one of the most powerful tools you have. And... one of the easiest to get wrong.

When you wear a lip colour that doesn't work with your palette, it becomes the first thing people see. Not your eyes. Not your smile. Not your presence. Just your lips. Front and centre. Taking over your whole face in a way that feels a little... well... clownish. And not in a fun way.

Gold or silver? ✨This is the moment in every colour analysis session where things get a little dramatic... in the best way!

Because here's something most people don't realize... your colour palette doesn't just tell you what to wear. It tells you which metals actually love you back.

For a long time, I was the one behind the camera.📸

Not just literally... though yes, my feed was full of my clients and almost empty of me.

I avoided networking events when I wasn't feeling my best. I wore black because it felt like a uniform - serious, professional, put-together - even when my confidence in what I was building felt anything but.🫣

And I never talked about the fact that I was still working a 9-5. Or that I had an entire career as a Registered Dietitian running alongside this one. I was convinced that if people knew, they'd see me as less committed. Less legitimate. Just someone doing photography as a hobby.

So I hid those parts. Kept them off my feed, out of my conversations, away from my brand.

Meanwhile, I was asking my clients to show up fully. To stop hiding behind stock images and outdated photos. To let themselves be seen - boldly, beautifully, authentically.

The irony wasn't lost on me.

The turning point wasn't dramatic. It was just a quiet realization that I couldn't keep asking that of other women while refusing to do it myself.

So I started telling the truth. About the 9-5. About the Dietitian career. About the fact that building something you love is hard and nonlinear and doesn't always look the way you planned.

And you know what happened?

People didn't pull away.

They leaned in.

They said...

Me too.

That makes so much sense.

Now I trust you even more.

Turns out, the thing I was most afraid to show was the thing that made me most worth knowing.
