Happy first Saturday of autumn, everyone! 🍂
My favourite season. Get out there and enjoy the colours and the good footing while we have it!
Those crisp, cool mornings can bring a few extra snorts and leave you wondering whether you’ve caught your horse or a dragon. 😂
Before saddling up, take a few minutes to check in with some thoughtful groundwork.
Where’s their attention? Are they relaxed or a little on edge? Are their shoulders moving freely with you, or are they drifting into your space?
Can they soften through their ribcage and follow a gentle bend? Are their hind legs reaching forward freely, or are their steps short and restricted?
Just five minutes can give you a lot of information. Give them time to warm up, and let what you notice guide what you ask next.
