Just look at the mountain range …

The Aspy Fault is a large crack in the Earth’s crust on Cape Breton Island. It is about 40 kilometres (24 miles) long and runs through the Cape Breton Highlands National Park.

The fault runs from Cape North through the Margaree Valley, and the Aspy River follows the fault line for much of its length. The fault was formed by movement of large sections of rock sliding past each other.
