Something I struggle with as a photographer is wondering if what I'm doing matters. I don't know how many other photographers think about that or think like that. I have always wanted to be able to impact lives and change the world and I wondered how photography fits into that vision.
Then, there is this guy. He hails from my hometown and travelled all the way to a new place, a new world, a new adventure and he's just doing what he loves. If there is something that every one knows, it's music. Jimi Hendrix said, Music doesn’t lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music.
When I see it from this perspective, then the work I do matters. I get to help people see themselves in a way they can't capture themselves. I get to help people put themselves out there and change the world. Just like my friends and their music matters, my photography matters. That's why I started this page and putting my work out there. If you're out there doubting yourself, I'm with you doubting myself every day. But I encourage myself even more. When I hear the voice say, who even cares? I say, I care.
