Wanna know one of my most favourite parts of your couture session with your teens and tweens? It's the zoom ordering appointment. WHY? Because this is when your child sees how absolutely stunning they truly are. The photos we look at during your zoom are UNEDITED and they see that with absolutely no retouching, they are truly works of art. The way they smile and react to these images truly touches my heart and makes what I do SO rewarding. Of course afterwards, we get rid of any little scratches or stray hairs in retouching, but the essence of THEM is there, and remains unaltered. This is truly an experience that AI can never replace.

Why bring your 3 year old in for studio portraits?
We bring a sense of adventure and fun into portraits for this age - we have little chairs and stools and props that are just their size, but we also can get great shots like this on "grown up" sized props, which really just shows off how tiny they still are. Soon they'll be losing those chubby baby cheeks and dimpled fingers and we want to capture that for you. PLUS, 3 year olds are known for their rapidly changing moods haha! We can capture such a range of emotions in a short session - from wild and silly to sweet and serious all in one go, and lots of laughs for the grownups in the room as we go.

Happy Sweet 16 to my darling Ryanna.
You're a busy girl (this week alone you have 2 dance competitions back to back, flying back from Banff on Tuesday just in time for a Chamber Choir dress rehearsal Tuesday night, while also competing your heart out at South Fraser Championships for track all day yesterday and today with a Chamber choir concert tonight and 3 more dances tomorrow)!! AND YET. You still take the time to lift others up, to be encouraging, to cheer when it's time for cheering and hug when it's time to sit with someone who is hurting. You are insanely smart, and beautiful, and loyal and fun to be around.
Love you so much.

One of my favourite images from last summer... You see, this little boy in the front is deaf, and couldn't hear any of my instructions and certainly had no interest in me as a stranger waving around and gesturing towards him... he was far more interested in playing in the sand pit. So I had the idea that on the count of 3, I would have his entire family "cheer" at him in sign language, and the look of wonder on his face to see all of his loved ones cheering for him is one of those moments I'll never forget.

If you're thinking of booking extended family photos this summer, I have just TWO Saturday's left - July 4th, and August 22nd. If you and your family can make one of these dates work and want a spot, message me to reserve it!
