Family photos don’t have to mean standing still and smiling at the camera.

For this family of six, they meant sandy toes, piggyback rides (even for Mom and Dad) playing in the sand and running straight into the waves.

It was an evening filled with fun, sunshine and the kind of laughter that happens when everyone is simply enjoying being together. We finished it all beneath the most beautiful sunset, soaking in those last golden moments by the water.

A little wild, a lot of love and the sweetest memories of summer together.

A quiet morning surrounded by the people who matter most.

We met at a local conservation area at 9 a.m., while the day was still fresh and unhurried. Parents, their two adult children and their partners, along with two little grandsons—the family they began and the beautiful lives that have grown from it.

There was time for the photographs everyone hopes to have, but also for the moments that happened naturally: the boys exploring, familiar laughter between grown siblings and grandparents soaking in this season with their grandchildren.

Families don’t need to be large for their stories to hold generations of love.

There is something incredibly special about photographing a family in the place where their story began.

This extended family session took place in the backyard of the home where the kids grew up—a space filled with years of memories, familiar corners and the feeling of home.

Now, they returned with children of their own. The backyard that once held their childhood adventures was filled again with laughter, this time shared among grandparents, grown children and grandchildren.

These photographs aren’t only about who was there. They’re about where they were taken, the history held within that space and the generations who will carry those memories forward.

A family. A home. And another chapter of their story preserved.

Three years old and ready to explore! 🤍

This family session took us to the playground, where their two little ones could run, climb, play and simply be themselves.

We celebrated their oldest turning three with plenty of movement, genuine laughter and those beautifully unscripted moments that tell the real story of family life right now.

Children don’t always need to sit still and smile for the camera. Sometimes, the most meaningful photographs happen when we meet them in a space where they feel comfortable, let them lead and capture the joy as it naturally unfolds.

Summer is coming to a close and the Holidays are just around the corner.

Hard to believe how fast the Summer has flown by but we are getting excited for not 1, not 2, but 3 different Holiday mini options this year.

To start November off we will have the big man in red himself here in studio for a few hours on Nov 7th to capture some fun interactive shots with your kiddos. We will have our holiday kitchen set-up as well as our red room so the kids can decorate cookies with Santa, read a book and have a more individual experience.

Nov 8th we have our Outside Holiday Minis happening at the Komoka Provincial Park amongst the large Pine trees.

And to complete the month off we have In-studio minis happening on Nov 21st, 22nd, and 28th. These set-ups to be confirmed closer to. Weekday times are available upon e-mail request.

Summer is flying by far too quickly, and somehow fall is already just around the corner.

We’ve had so much fun at the beach with so many wonderful families this year—laughing, playing in the water and capturing all the little moments that make summer feel so special.

We can’t wait to photograph a few more families by the water before the weather turns too cold.

Soft pale blues, warm neutrals and one very sleepy little boy.

He slept beautifully throughout his newborn mini session, allowing us to move smoothly through each setup and capture so many sweet details while he was still curled up and cozy.

Preserving this season doesn’t always require a full session. A newborn mini is a simple, meaningful way to remember just how tiny they were. The little fingers, sleepy expressions and delicate features that change far too quickly.

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this family since their youngest daughter was just one, and watching these two girls grow has been such a gift.

Their beach mini was filled with laughter, splashing in the water and so much genuine love and joy between the girls and their parents.

Family sessions don’t need to feel stiff or perfectly posed. When we keep things light, playful and true to each family’s personality, everyone can relax and simply enjoy being together. That’s when the most meaningful moments unfold, the belly laughs, the spontaneous hugs and the beautiful connection that can’t be staged.
