I’ve been asked a few times if I’ll be offering mini sessions again…

The short answer is no. And honestly, that decision was very intentional.

I know mini sessions work beautifully for some photographers and some families. But over the years, I’ve realized they simply don’t align with the kind of experience I want to create at New Leaf.

Because I don’t want your session to feel like something you have to squeeze into 15 minutes.

I want there to be room for the shy toddler to warm up.
For the baby who needs a little extra cuddling.
For the unexpected moments that end up becoming your favourites.

I don’t see those moments as interruptions. I see them as part of the story.

So this isn’t really a post about why I don’t offer minis.

It’s about why I choose to do things differently.

I’m now booking October–December maternity & newborn sessions at the New Leaf studio.

These sessions are intentionally slow, baby-led, and centered around the little moments you’ll want to remember — the tiny details, the connection, and the new beginning of your families next chapter.

Clients also have access to my curated studio wardrobe, including my collection of gowns.

I keep my calendar intentionally limited each month, so if your due date falls between October and December, now is a beautiful time to reserve your session. 🌿

And for families visiting the studio later this year… something cozy is coming for November & December.

Who has the gowns, props & little details ready.
Who knows when to slow down.
Who follows your baby’s cues.
Who guides you when you have no idea what to do with your hands. 😆
Who notices the tiny details you may not even realize are happening.

Because your session should feel just as beautiful as the images you leave with.

At New Leaf, I’m not interested in rushing you through a session just to check a box.

I want you to feel comfortable, cared for and completely present in the moment — while I take care of the rest.

This maternity session will be one I continue to share for years to come. 🤍

It was a warm summer evening, and we truly couldn’t have asked for better weather. Kelly was glowing in every sense of the word—radiating that beautiful maternal goddess energy.

The three gowns she chose from our client wardrobe felt as though they were made just for her and this season of motherhood.

I have had the honor of photographing this family for years, and being chosen time and time again to preserve these chapters of their story is something I never take lightly.

One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is the relationships that come with this work—the privilege of watching families grow, getting to know my clients, and feeling like a small part of their journey.

These are the moments that remind me exactly why I do what I do. 🤍

When this sweet big sister came into the studio with her newborn twin sisters, everyone imagined cuddles.

Instead...

She quietly laid beside them.

She watched them.

She admired them from her own little space.

She wasn't quite ready for hugs that day and that was perfectly okay.

At New Leaf, I believe children don't need to perform in front of my camera.

They don't need to smile on cue, sit perfectly still, or fit into an idea of what the "perfect" photograph should look like.

They simply need the space to be themselves.

Because years from now, I don't want your photographs to remind you of a perfectly posed version of your family.

I want them to remind you of who your family was in this season of life.

Curious.

Shy.

Loving.

Wonder-filled.

Beautifully imperfect moments.

Those are worth remembering.

Those are the moments I love preserving for families. 🤍
