This year’s Holiday Sessions are happening at Sun Valley Greenhouses - Head Office, St. John's, NL with a Christmas tree farm inspired setup. 🎄

Think trees lining both sides of the greenhouse with warm lights strung overhead, creating a simple, classic Christmas backdrop.

A Newfoundland-themed session for the sweetest couple & their beautiful pups 🤍

I guess every outdoor session here is technically “Newfoundland-themed,” but we chose a classic spot for this one because these photos are to remember their time here when they move out of province soon. 🥹

I just love that we got to capture a little piece of Newfoundland for them to take with them. 🤍

Also, a behind-the-scenes highlight: me loudly making ridiculous noises in my best dog voice to get their pups to look at me while probably disturbing half of Quidi Vidi. 😂 And then we wandered down onto the wharf for a few photos, only to realize afterward that we had casually walked into an actual wedding ceremony setup. 😂 There was absolutely no way for us to know, and thankfully we didn’t actually delay anything, but there were definitely some people watching us like… 👀😂

Come to a night market with me at Sacred Serenity ✨

I spent the evening wandering around with my camera, capturing some of the people, vendors, practitioners, and little moments that made the night so special.

Joel’s grad session was really relaxed.

We spent some time in nature, took a few photos with his hockey jersey and stick, and captured a few moments with his parents along the way.

Not every session needs a big concept. Sometimes it’s simply about documenting a milestone, including the things that matter to you, and spending time with the people who helped you get here.

Congratulations again, Joel. 🎓

The original plan for Ashton’s grad session was to head outdoors and include his dirt bike. Newfoundland weather had other plans, so we pivoted to the beautiful atrium in the Core Sciences Building at MUN instead. (Unfortunately, no dirt bikes allowed. 😂)

His family came along to celebrate, and we made sure to capture everyone who was part of the day.

One of the things I love most about these sessions is not being too rigid about the plan. I always go in with ideas, but I also trust the process. Sometimes the weather changes, sometimes a location doesn’t work out, and sometimes the photos end up looking completely different than you imagined.

That doesn’t mean they’re any less meaningful. More often than not, they turn out even better because we stayed flexible.

I absolutely love how this session came together!
