John's, Canada. He began taking photos over 15 years ago with the use of a small 35mm film point and shoot setup. From that point on, he admired the work of world-renowned photographers and began to develop his craft. It was not until moving to Vancouver in 2012 that he had an opportunity to refine his skills, however as a graduate student in geology there was not much time to devote. During 2015-
2016, travel in Southeast Asia and New Zealand was a perfect opportunity for his photography passion to take off. As a geologist and dive professional, work continually takes him around the world. Interests in rocks, hiking, diving, cycling, and travel brings me to the tops of mountains, depths of the sea, and into bustling cities. No matter the location, there is a camera with him and some moment to capture, whether it be landscapes, macro, wildlife, or underwater. The underlying theme is curiosity about the world we inhabit. Nature changes on a daily basis, and Matt's goal is to bring you some of the moments that are most special to him.
