I had the most exhilarating experience earlier today, but I am hoping with all of my heart it wasnt for all of the wrong reasons. A very young moose calf, wandered over to my cousin's yard. Mama nowhere in sight. Listening to him calling for her was sweet, yet heartbreaking all at the same time. As of dusk, he was still out there, crying. Attempts have been made to both notify proper authorities, and to secure the calf in a safe place for the night, so that I could bring it to a rehab facility tomorrow, as I was working until 10 PM. I will be going out first thing in the morning, to HOPEFULLY find him along side his mama, or if still alone, be able to get him safely to a wildlife rehab. Sorry for being long winded, and SORRY for the Moose Calf Spam! There will be more as I process the images.
Sorry Mom, just had to include one of you trying to make sure he didnt go onto the road where people drive like its a freeway!

A male American Bittern, wooing the female ( obscured by branches in the first image, on the left) Taken last week by my pond. A few days later, I looked out my bedroom window and saw flapping wings, and commotion. It took me a second to realize it was the pair mating, and by then it was already too late to grab my camera as the both flew away
